Not to burst your bubble. But I have used Winmx before and it sucks. You can't find shit on there and people on there don't share shit.

Re: Soulseek alternatives..........

slsk is just fine... I've always been able to find whatever I was looking for in there. Ok, almost everything.

eMule is good as well.

Re: Soulseek alternatives..........

suprnova.org!

Re: Soulseek alternatives..........

Does your laptop have a new p4 cpu with hyperthreading on it? Soulseek does not play nicely with hyperthreading CPUs, but this is easily corrected by assigning soulseek CPU affinity.

ctrl-alt-delete -> processes -> right click on soulseek.exe -> set affinity -> pick either cpu (check mark one of them)

#255126Post 29 of 88

well I recommend you to try e-mule if soulseek doesn't works on your computer.

Anything for a mac?

#258579Post 36 of 88

Hey guys, I've given Ares a quick go... amazing amount of stuff on there!

Shits all over slsk except that theres not as many DJ sets, but in terms of singles you'll return more results than even Kazaa seems to ever did.

It downloads very fast and from multiple sources.

I highly recommend it, theres 2 adware apps bundled with them but you're free to deselect them when you install the software.

Check it out dudes!

Re: Soulseek alternatives..........

For me, problem with soulseek is that it is too slow. And most users are unavailable for download. There should definitely be more websites that have hosting of mixes with lots of bandwidth out there for us EDM fans. Makes it alot easier to hear the music that way.

#258892Post 38 of 88

Re: Soulseek alternatives..........

morpheus... although it hesitates a lot, but it has similar users as slsk.

#258972Post 39 of 88

Re: Soulseek alternatives..........

does anyone know some good rooms to enter on slsk? Also, I am kind of confused on the rooms. once you are in a room, are you allowed to download those users music from that room? Or do they still have to let you.
