Re: addicitons

Thats awesome man, good for you dude, good habits are the key, we are creatures of habit so be sure to fill your old habits with new one's...study your patterns and be ultra aware of when your most vulnerable times are i.e. night/morning , monday/friday you get the point...those are the times when you will most likely need a friend who can hold you accountable...when life begins to seem boring or monotonous your brain will crave some kind of variation and thats usually when people drink alcohol, do drugs, drive fast in their car, etc...observe yourself closely, keep mental notes and lastly congrats on taking positive steps forward:!: :!: :!:

Re: addicitons

Glad to see that you've done good for yourself...addicition sucks, even though I as an individual refuse to admit it exists (as I've done loads of shit and never felt it as an addiction) Don't what exactly you got hooked on...anyway I only wanted to say that instead of watching some shitty self help films i.e. the secret...you should really get to know yourself at a deeper level and I'm not talking about religion...I mean read books that have been around for ages, read all the clasics...Kafka, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Niche...also I would recommend reading Carl Gustav yung...I think if you get to know yourself well enough and become comfortable with the person you are and your actions you will have little need for drugs as a base of your life. Books and lifting weights are my meditation...and the club is my church where I gather thoughts. Ecstasy/drugs are only a tool I sometimes use to gain deeper knowledge of myself, not something I rely on to feel good... Hope you make it man, really I do...because if you don't than what chance has everyone else got?

Re: addicitons

volunteer at your local county hospital. You'll see shit that'll make you stop drugs right away. Better yet, volunteer at a children's hospital so you can see the amount of kids affected by the sins of society.

Re: addicitons
Ok, so I want to make an update cause Im actually pretty excited. I have now been clean for more than three weeks. This weekend I was in LA to see Wisternoff and Schulz and I knew that it was going to be hard. I was there with a good friend of mine that is also a recovering addict. We made it the whole night, it was so cool. Its weird to say cause I had never been able to imagine being at a party and being sober, and I mean completly sober, no drugs, alcohol nothing. It was hard at first but then during the night I didnt think about it much. The show was dope and I had a great time being sober. Who would have thought? Thanks again for all the input, it actually helped and Im doing great.
Great f**king news. Really pleased for you. You have done superbly well in surely one of the most tempting environments possible. Keep it up...!! 8)

Re: addicitons

Good to hear that Pilot, and I hope that the excitement with which you wrote it will help you keep it up. Think of this feeling everytime you get the craving :D. I guess for many people it boils down to seeing that you actually don't need stuff to feel good, if you have you life in order. I've been through some shitty times and never even touched drugs in an attempt to escape reality...why? Because it won't solve a problem, it won't help me, it doesn't improve my situation.

The very best way to avoid any dependence is simply being at ease with who you are I guess, and also realizing that that means you don't have to be perfect mate. I've come to that point in the past 2 years, and every last friend of mine will tell you that I've become a different person in that period. Just look at yourself and who you want to be, and start working toward becoming that person. Slowly, but steadily. One step at a time.

Keep it up, and remember: the strongest is a natural high. But that is the only one that requires an effort...

Re: addicitons

so this morning I went to see a doctor cause Im struggling in school. Its hard to focus and my short-term memory is shot. He said that a bit of adhd and drug use history is whats causing my problems. He said also that my years of use may be perminant! This freaks me out. Does anyone else know much about this cause I dont. I am always forgetting things and losing things. I hate it and I think it has to do with drug use.

Re: addicitons

ADHD is tough, as it's a marginal call sometimes...you think you might have it, you don't, you might have it, but after trying 14 drugs, none of them really work...

If you think ADHD may be behind some things, get some more opinions and do some research...don't just start loading up on drugs; it's too easy for doctors to prescribe them nowadays...

The best selling ADHD drugs are just speed toned down so that they fit the FDA's restrictions. And yes, if you consumed a lot of meth[amphetamine] type products, you've more than likely damaged your neurons. I wouldn't be surprised if you get schizo in the long run. But prescription drugs aren't your solution - start buying sodoku puzzles or crossword puzzles to help strengthen your short term and long term memory. If you're not reading now, start a regiment of reading. Bottom Line: Do what you can to exercise your brain.

Re: addicitons

I totally agree Localizer. Im in school and I already do things to make my brain work more. I dont want to start on any meds if possible, but now Im to the point where if I need some additional help, I will do what I need. Im not trying to score more drugs, just feel somewhat normal again if thats possible. Its been so long since Ive been clean that Ive actually forgotten what its like. Ive been reading a ton on adhd and depression. I fit alot of the catagories.

Re: addicitons

good deal to keep reading....there was a monthly-membership-forum site on ADHD that I came across; never signed up for it yet, but it does look like something (I feel like I have it as well sometimes and am trying to re-train and work my mind to get off of it)

http://www.InstantADDsuccess.com

does offer a trial as well...

Re: addicitons

It helps if you have a Dr who has known you or your family for 5-10 years (or your whole life). Is this Dr. a close family friend as well?

Re: addicitons

Congrats pilot! That is definitely a milestone on your way to recovery to make note of and be proud of!

My other Dr. is kinda dorky and would prescribe me whatever I wanted so Im leaning towards this other dude
