Friends that fu*k up a perfectly good evening...

#36140Post 1 of 60

I went out tonight, had a good time hooking up with a girl that was perfectly acceptable to have a one night stand with - and she was in to it as well, but: my best friends deemed it necessary to scream into my ear that I "had to kiss her right there right then" and asked "if we had determined how we were going to have sex yet" while she could easily hear it all...being drunken and all, they seemed to have lost all feel for tact or subtlety.

It ruined my evening. When I'm talking to a girl, relaxed, having fun, preparing for more (she could be doing that as well), I fucking HATE IT when my friends give me that drunken bullshit! Isn't it normal that at that point where you and the woman are apart from the group, they have the decency to leave you alone and let things take their course? Goddamnit, I actually gave up and went home, without her. Told her she's really cool, looks good and we kissed a few times, but nothing more. My best friends destroyed my evening by acting like fucking kids and treating me like some kind of moron that you need to hold hands with, in front of a girl FFS.

Any thoughts? Imagine yourself in this position...

Re: Friends that fuck up a perfectly good evening...

find better wingmen.

Seriously. I've got a group of friends who still act as if they're in high school when it comes to chicks. They're fun to hang out with when i'm not on the prowl, but I RARELY go hunting with them around. Instead, I've got two or three really close guys who know the game, the unspoken rules, and so on. They're the guys I go out to meet girls with. It's mostly an issue of balance. I don't know the intersocial culture of the Netherlands, but I would bet it similar to what it is here. Anything specific question, just PM me.

PS: go watch the movie Swingers for a good idea as to this.

Mariner: fucking spot in, I have 2 guys that are like that: if we go on a hunt it's perfect (and seldom do we end up without results too), but yes....these guys are totally like highschool kids when it comes to this, despite the fact that most of them have GF's. But Sean....there's nothing to fight back to when (1) they're drunk and (2) they come right into your face asking you wether you've determined how you're gonna have sex yet. Seriously man, the problem is that i'm better on my feet when it comes to women than they. She was annoyed as well, but made the implicit promise that this will have a sequel soon though ;)

Q- you guys figure out where/how you're gonna have sex yet?

a- (look at her first, smile and wink) i dont know yet bro, your sister knocked reverse cowgirl out of the playbook last night.

if he hits you, he aint your friend. if he comes back, excuse yourself, tell him to shut it,and buy her a drink.

lol...i'll try that next time. This doesn't take away the fact tho that anyone with a minimal sense of dignity in their ass would simply leave me alone instead of acting like an overexcited 12-yr old...

I bet we'd have a good evening hunting Localizer, you're on ;).

And in retrospect...I should thank my friends for pissing me off, because now I try to remember some pretty face from yesterday all I see is a not-so-pretty face (still a well proportioned body tho) which I'm glad to not have seen when I woke up this morning :D

Re: Friends that fuck up a perfectly good evening...

well the best thing todo is just leave ur mates so they cant see you. Always suggest going somewhere quiet. If ur mates ring dont bother answering, its kinda a shitty thing todo but if you want some sexytime then it has to be done.

Although in saying that one of my mates is always ditching us to chase tail.. Its fairly lame .. I mean i get my fair share but alot of the time i have fun just getting pissed with the lads.

Re: Friends that fuck up a perfectly good evening...

I hate friends like that. They're either immature, jealous, or both. I had one friend like that who would give me a hard time about women at a club. He would say that girl is not attractive or a skank. Later on, when he thought I wasn't paying attention, he would start hitting on the girl that he was just talking trash about. It's a trick women use against each other.

I'd suggest leaving with the girl to another part of the bar or leaving with her to go elsewhere. Be aggressive with your friends if they don't stop and tell them to fuck off. If they don't like it, tell them to annoy someone else.

well dude what ever happened to bros before hoes? yeah drunk friends are annoying as hell, but there will be more girls to have one night stands with. plus, i think it's more annoying when i'm out with my friends and one of them slips away from the group to get laid--it's like, we all came out to have fun with each other, wth is that?

Yeah.

How about getting laid a few times Chrissy, and you'll know what it's about. Sometimes I'll drink with my friends, sometimes I'll walk into a girl that is worth going home with - real bros accept that and above all leave you to your business when you're interacting. Don't tell me you never went home with a lady while your friends were still drinking?

Worst is...they wanted to me go home with her but I was actually having a good time and relaxing and didn't see the need for it at that time - and they started acting like jerks and little schoolboys over that.

well before you assume that i don't get laid, you should re-read what you sounded like. my post was just a response. you failed to mention that you were having a good time with the girl and just wanted to have a good time with her (not necessarily going home with her). and plus, you can't really hate your friend, alcohol makes people act like jerks. it's a well recorded fact:p

#773617Post 19 of 60

Re: Friends that fuck up a perfectly good evening...

Hah, you're right about that last thing mate. Btw, not seriouslt thinking you don't get laid, maybe that wasn't a nice thing to say - sorry for that. I just realy didn't agree with your statement, imo a good friend goes out with you but when one of the group is about to get his groove on, it's an unwritten rule that you don't interfere. In this cade however, I was being pushed into something I wasn't completely into and that totally ruïned any inclination I might have had towards going home with her (or her with me). The other guys that were there totally understood me when I left.

And that particular guy does indeed turn into a total jerk when he's had enough booze...among me and my friends a well recorded fact as well :D

A) I think he was refering to the idea that you don't get laid.

B) It is a very well recorded fact that alcohol makes people act like jerks. Conversely, it's a well known rule that when your friends act like dickheads by drinking alcohol, you hold blame to the friends, not to the smirnoff. Just because alcohol makes you act like a jerk does not excuse behavior.

C) The "bro's before ho's" idea presupposed that the "bro's" will act as such, regardless of the situation and circumstance. If i've got a friend who, when supplied with alcohol, acts beligerent, and cockblocks me, he's not 'my bro'. Bro's Before Ho's is a philosophical blank-out to the real context behind that saying: to excuse poor behavior. This may have worked eons ago when things like text-messaging, cell phones, and social dynamics/social rules did not exist.

I'll reiterate the idea to have a distinct group of wingmen. It's both constructive and productive in relation to the alternative. Everyone wins, even if you do strike out.

Bro's before Ho's is still a valid prinicple. But as you mention, it can't be applied regardless of situation or circumstance. Rather, it is more of a big picture principle applying across the long term rather than the immediate. I don't take it to mean that during a guys night out, I can't flirt, pursue or go home with a woman at the end of the night, rather to me it means, I don't do things like date my boys ex girlfriends, no matter how hot she is.

I can go along with that, in the bigger picture for example I won't let any woman come in between a good friendship, but if I'm scoring (or in this case: decide not to when he wants me to), I want to be left alone or at the very least not be bothered on the subject except for a simple inquiry as to what I'm planning.

I got 2 guys with whom I sometimes go on a hunt, and that's just perfect: flirting and checking all the time, and if one of us decides to go off with a girl, then fine. Or one simply plans a date for later so we can end the night drinking together - those are the best, laying the foundations for future liaisons

Especially when you go out with a good friend, then his fucked up buddy end's up pushing ya, not once but twice, into a group of woman (a pick up tactic i was later told). Now were gettin places. Talk about ruining your whole night, and any momentum you've built up until then. Tragic.
