some crazy shit right there and my wife's aunt lives on that block on the 20th floor, I had to double-check to make sure it wasn't her building. Thank goodness it was a few buildings over, but quite tragic nonetheless :(

just another day in new york! :-(

on my commute home from manhattan tonight, people had that weird look on their faces, kind of like "sh*t, planes are slamming into buildings again". a look of fear, sadness, helplessness, & despair.

for a very brief moment this afternoon when the news broke here, my thoughts traveled back to 911. i was scared again. we were quickly reassured that it was not terrorist related, so i go home with the sadness of the tragedy & that lives were lost in a plane accident.

i haven't watched much tv news since 911, but, when i get home i immediately turn on the local news to find out more. i am immediately struck with the news that ny yankee pitcher cory lidle was on the plane & killed in the crash. my thoughts, now far away from 911 & any terrorist connection, reflect on an organization that has had such great success & so such tragedy. thurman munson, micky mantle, roger maris, lou gerig. a sad day today, & just another day in new york. :-(
