Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

 1. nick warren rocks, first ''big''dj i ever had the pleasure of opening for in boston. huge influence on simply how to rock a dancefloor anywhere. he can go to any club in any country, and rip the roof off.

 2. it would be awesome if they had a video companion to this where the cops raided the place and all the white french people stopped moving and started pointing fingers at the muslims and pushed them into the paddy wagons. 50 years later, same shit, different people.

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

i'm sure in time there will be another gu dvd, but it'll still never match the first one.

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

If this is half as good as Shanghai I will be a happy man.

Agree with all the positive comments about Nick - he can bring it to any dancefloor, anywhere. He rarely plays a crap tune. I won't even comment about his mixing, as I'm as tired as geoff gulley is hearing about it.

Bring it on Nick!

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

I see GU 29 and 31 topics here, but what happened to 30? Did it fall off the planet like 02?

Just re-listening to Warren's set from Tel Aviv 2004.. damn that was good! I'm looking forward to this... you never know.
Just re-listening to Warren's set from Tel Aviv 2004.. damn that was good! I'm looking forward to this... you never know.
that set was an absolute scorcher, unfortunately he rarely if ever comes close to that one from what I've heard.

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

nick is the shit, period. he has been around forever, doing every possible thing a dj/producer could want. his 7th GU should be pretty damn good, at least it ain't Lavelle again. i really like nick's sets, live or studio. nick's mixing has gotten way better also. track selection and programming were always there though.

The only set of his i've hard thats been better than Tel Aviv in 24 was Tel Aviv 2005 . . . . . i still get very warm fuzzzy feelings just thinking about it. . . . . . . Unfortunatly I dont think it was recorded, but if you ever come across a set entitled Nick Warren The Vox March 2005. . . thats the sucker and I want a copy.

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

I have the same prob with GU releases. They constantly use the same DJ's. Always Seaman and Warren. They need Nubreed and diversity in their DJ choices. I havent bought a GU release since Digweed LA

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

GU has long since been surpassed by the balance comps, bedrock and Renannsance(sp?) comps. Can't wait for the Paul Van Dyk GU

#726444Post 58 of 148

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

i think even pvd wouldn't put out a cd on that label. he's got labels with better distribution to do his work with.

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

... anyway ... GU is stocked.

but warren... he's doing well always playing "new" sound. what da hell with amsterdam & shangai but hey reyjavik?s cd is so sweet that i can make love whit it, really i love it.

so i will be waiting paris............. and mexico city ;)

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

Amsterdam is the best GU ever!!

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

Dont see the argument myself. Warren has always blended smooth tunes into his GU mixes. Loved Shanghai and look forward to paris.

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

I doubt you'll be seeing a Dave Seaman GU anymore. He's got his Renaissance stuff to do along with his own label.

Hernan will also probably never do a gu...why go to that label when you've got awesome releases on a very well respected label like Renaissance.

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

Cool - I've liked all of Nick's GU comps. Should be a good start to '07 with Transitions 2 in Jan then GU 31 in Feb.

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

there dosnt seem to be any new nick warren sets around...been checking hybridized.org and various other sites for a while now but nothing about..has anyone got a new nick warren set??

#774945Post 75 of 148

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

The tracklist at least seems interesting for this because about 80% of the producers I dont recognize (and the ones I do are quality ex: 16 bit lolitas) and same can be said for Digweeds Transitions 2.

#774953Post 76 of 148

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

it going to be solid, but not epic. GU is boring as all hell now-a-days.

GU : GET SOME NEW TALENT!

#775319Post 77 of 148

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

CD1 is downtempo, rather nice actually. CD2 is more in the vein of his Shanghai album.

#775481Post 78 of 148

Re: Nick Warren - GU 31 Paris

why do these guys do downtempo cd's...we buy GU for dance music...not downtempo. If the guys wants to put out downtempo. then get him to do the downtempo/chill cd's that gu puts out.

His last downtempo disc for GU was very well received, more so than a lot of the other stuff they've put out in the past three years or so, so that would be why.

they already do that, next january 19th, 2007.

anyway. we need new stuffs... ok. but we already have does new talents in the new labels so why are you caring about????

we knew GU as an Proggressive-Trance label... lets keep it like that. the one's we need from GU are 24/7 & NUBREED 8)
