asdf.... you're right, I would go with the G5... the G6 is a BEAUTIFUL piece but from the reviews I've read, its still doing the 9 point AiAf and has the same chipsets as the G5, the ONLY changes are the color and its now taking 7 MP.

I've also noticed that as the resolution increases, the "noise" in the images tends to increase until the image is shrunk....

Plus it seems the layout (of buttons) on the G6 have been subtly improved but not a whole lot different....

with that said.... I'd say go for the G5 for the same reason asdf stated...... its gonna get DAMN FUCKING CHEAP!!!!
here is the BEST FUCKING website regarding digital cameras. the reviews are fucking full blown, and IT'S THE BEST SITE PERIOD.

This site's much better than Steve's digicam reviews. Steve is too easy on many cameras.

I bought a Nikon 3100 earlier this year for its small size and quality pictures. http://www.nikon.ca/digital/products/cameras/coolpix_3100/default.asp So far it's been great, except for really chewing through batteries. I always need a second set of rechargeables with me. But it's literally pocket size.

If I was buying now I'd get a Nikon 4200, or some kind of Canon, like an A70 or A80.

Of course, I really want a Canon 10D. Woo!

Re: Digital Cameras .....

Jumoing on the digital camera wagon here, does anyone here own a pentax opitio s4i or s5i, and feedback? I have a canon s40 and it rocks but I'm looking for a ultra compact. I know there the canon s410 and s500 but looking for something even smaller. The Pentax camera you can fit in a Altoids tin.

Re: Digital Cameras .....

Hello!

I just bought the CANON IXUS 500 and i really enjoy this smart digi-cam. Excellent pictures, nice + easy handling and not that big & heavy. If you want a smaller one, i would recommend the casio exilim 40 (with a little bit poorer picture quality).

Re: Digital Cameras .....

Go with a Canon Digital Elph, it's small and has everything you need. I can put it in my back pocket when I go and whip it out when needed.

Re: Digital Cameras .....

:Bingo: 1st place of digital cameras - NIKON d70 - superb quality of pictures

2nd place - CANON eos 20d - could be a winner with better objective, nothing else to complain, a little to heavy maybe

3rd place - SONY f-828 - least complicated for use and great shoots with that Sony

Definitive!
