I think those qoutes say enough and I think that if this is the true statement of Tiestos promoter, that we should be raising holy hell and bashing the living fuck out of Tiesto. And quite frankly Karen, im dissapointed that your always valid opinion in this matter is in support of Tiesto. I would not give this guy a fucking dime of money and besides, ticket prices like that are diminishing the overall quality of the EDM by removing any kind of set price standard that we feel we should be paying to see a quality DJ. Im extremely dissapointed by reading this, and I know that it may not be totally legit, but I see this trend in charging way too much for tickets happening more and more often as the Djs popularity grows. As I said before, Teisto, Oakenfold, and any other crap ass Dj for that matter who thinks he is god will not get one cent from me.

DQ, the article is pretty blatant satire, not sure how you are taking this so seriously...

and bashing teisto in this case, hell in ALL cases, is pretty damn justified. pulling a stunt like this is really lame...its not like that overtanned eurotrash wanker needs any more money. he does pretty well making 50k a gig as it is. not allowing refunds is the icing on the cake.

I am not taking it so seriously, just tired of the attacks on trance in general on here. Again it is your opinion that Tiesto bashing is justified....that's fine, I just don't agree with you. The man has done a lot for the industry and I don't feel it is right to bash him ALL the time

As for the comment about the tickets they are honoring the tickets already purchased at the bigger better venue, so I don't see what they are doing wrong here? I think it is better that they are changing the venue so he doesn't get stuck like he did in Montreal where the venue over-sold and wouldn't let ppl in and caused a huge scene.

You guys blame it all on Tiesto...you forget Tiesto isn't just one guy anymore....he is a team of people and at his level it is his managers and promoters making all the calls.

You may find that this satire is nearer the truth than expected.

Tiesto will be paid the same i suspect for playing reagrdless the amount of people, if i was a promoter and had sold all capitcity in pre sales, too right i'd be looking for a much larger club to stage the event.

DG has a point, don;t bash tiesto for this, it's the promoters fault. Tiesto IS to blame for the crappy tunes he plays though, fooking cloggy wanker.

For the record, the initial press release is a fake. It was written by a journalism student as a joke and like I said earlier, I needed some entertainment so I threw it on here. I don’t do that often anymore and yesterday I thought I’d post a well written and thought out gag.

I’m not bashing trance. Trance and DJs like Tiesto have always been the number one gateway into the scene. I never been into Tiesto, but trance from Oaky, PVD and the early days of Sasha and Diggers are what attracted me to this community. Trance remains a common element in Progressive music, my style of choice. It still offers some epic moments and airy sounds that really make some sets special.

I get as frustrated as anyone that such obvious music ends up representing our scene to the masses. It killed me to hear Tiesto play at the Olympics (though he did a pretty good job), but that's the way it is. Most people aren’t dedicated to the music like the people on this board. Most just want to party – party, and that’s what Tiesto offers.

So once again I apologize for stirring things up, but fame is always accompanied with criticism; especially when you look and sound so cheesy.
