Some people prefer to pay for a compressed version of a release. :roflmao:

Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
I couldn't tell you the specifics but I do recall reading some articles on it. The overall price of a double disc is much cheaper than say buying two single discs. The production cost is cheaper as well since, they don't have to make everything x 2. Not stating this for everyone, but it's been well documented that many people refrain from making a double or even a triple disc release do to those stats. It sucks. I've read some interviews where bands wanted to release a double or triple disc release but the label wouldn't let them because it wasn't deemed as "profitable". Bound by the contract of the label, the band couldn't really proceed with their ideas. Bastards.
and i would imagine the licensing costs would be another cost cutter. you need to pay for half the tracks. i am fukking sick of the single disc release's, fukking bullsh1t if you ask me. i was reading that it took sasha 2 days to put together fundacion... fukk me for the money he made from tha cd and it took that long, GU were cheap fukkin cvnts with that money making bomb!
for diggers cd on amazon there was a list price of $17.98 and a "sale" to $13.98. whenever i buy cd's (usually from newbury comics... north east chain) new double discs (newbury always charge you less when you buy new) are marked down from $19/$18 to around $15. i know when i buy this cd today it will be round $13. i feel like they are ripping us off these days ... :x it is like 2 buck cheaper and you lose half the music .... fukk that
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
definitely a solid mix CD from Digweed
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
WOW is all I have to say about this mix. Just bought it from Beatport yesterday. I cannot stop listening to it. I thought the Margot and Tigerskin tracks he includes on this were going to be awesome and they were...but man that On Spec track is absolutely mindblowing! solid.

yeah tell me digs dropped that shit back in jan. @ ice fucking brilliant:p
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
Awesome CD!! Lovin it!!
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
that extrawelt redux remix of MARGOT has been killing me ever since I heard it played live by Cusick... so glad it's on this CD
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
Damn, can't wait to hear this bitch. If it's as good as everyone is saying it is, I will be very happy. A nice, new, kick-ass Digweed mix is always welcome.
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
Single CD comps never do Digweed justice. Even his MMII. He's just one of those DJs that need at least 2 hours to get the groove on.
And has anyone heard the promo of this? Had the worst voicevoers ever. I know they're meant to deter people and promote sales of the original release, but man, the voiceovers were so unprofessionally done. Even the Kiss or Essential Mix jingles are done better.
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
I am PLEASANTLY surprised by this CD! Definitely a very superb mix. The odd thing is, the mixing/programming is very typical digweed, but the track selection is very different from his past compilations, and it sounds awesome! The last couple of compilations missed the mark for me, but this compilation really hits it! Now I'm even more excited to see him tomorrow night here in LA @ the mayan!! :P
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
you can also get this at beaport.com for 9.99, way worth the buy IMO.

Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
Great mix, finally got my copy last night. I really enjoyed the cd all the way through. Probably his best mix comp since MMII. I know will be listening to this cd on repeat for a long time now.
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions

Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
Sorry for changing my mind sir. I still can't get my head around the first 30 minutes but the rest is excellent, 5 plays now and it gets better each time.

Did your copy come with gaps between tracks like mine did? Personally I find this very annoying cause I dont have a program to put markers in at the gaps on my mac. Do you seperate it into tracks or did you just live with the gaps and burn as one whole track?
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
Worthy effort from Diggers!! Its definetly moving throughout the disc. I think it'll grow on me more once i get a chance to rock it out over the weekend!!
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
Dana Bergquist - Mcenroe is SUCH ahuge toon. absolutely amazing. been canning it out at clubs for a few weeks now. song of the comp IMO. The Lutzenkirchen remix of Warung beach a is lil weak but fits the comp well. I like mashtronics mix better.
i give this 9/10. a lil slow in the beginging but once it picks up its absolutely evil! go diggers!!!!

Ya this has to be my favorite on the CD but the whole damn thing is amazing. Best work I've seen Diggers put out in a while.
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
I didn't think much of it at first, but after a few listens it's growing on me like a fungus

Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
Listening to it right now. He's done it again.
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
after a few listens i was convionced. this mix builds and gathers strength from beginning to end. never fully taking off but chunking and funking right along in musical bliss. digs is on another level these days at his gigs. get to one if ya can. this cd is a nice representation of the meaner and nicer side of john. he lays it down with pure class on this disc. a proper in-home listen. or long car drive whatever your thing is.
i will buy this cd and cherish it.
Re: New Digweed Renaissance CD - Transitions
Awesome, awesome cd.
I've been playing the promo all day non stop and I'm absolutely addicted to it. I've ordered the CD and can't wait for it to arrive.
This will probably be my favourite Digweed cd. There's not a moment of it I don't like. I think he's gonna have a bit more freedom with regular half yearly releases to do some cool stuff and push the envelope as hard as he sees fit for cds.
I'm heading to Thailand in a couple of days time. This will be on heavy rotation from start to finish.
