Its got to be Martin Garcia... this guy has totaly amazed me. He definaly plays my favorite style....deep emotinal spiritual and very progressive...just really quality tunes imo. and no electro..

I dont think there is any one "best" progressive dj right now, its more like theres alot of really good ones, but no one dj at the moment is blowing away the competition or anything like that.

Well I'd have to say, my favourite style and sound of prog played by a particular DJ would have to be, the one and only Hernan Cattaneo.

His sound is so mature, dreamy, groovy and effortlessy cool. Cattaneo completely owns this sound and there's no other DJ that even comes remotely close. (except for Garcia)

The month of December has by far been the best of his Metrodance mixes imo. Really enjoyed all of parts1 & 2 in this month. My favourite would have to be 24-12-2005 Part2.

jep, thats true, but that is really only for this style, or similar. if u are going to start about the best dj, you can see everything in the magazines, every time there is a bunch of plp taking offf on digger, on the other hand there is sasha, or some howells or desyn...

i hope we are inteligent enough, or in the worst case set up a pool to do it for us...

Everyone has a different opinion..! And most of the progressive house djs don't event spin pure progressive house anymore..!

lower east side - sword fight (trente catrelle remix) is pretty much the epitomy of this new 'electro house' sound. White horse is in there too. Both tracks i enjoy, but you hear a lot about how sasha would never play that type of tunage?

Yeah that track isn't even funny, just complete cheesetastic shite.

As a matter of fact, Sasha didn't play it on his Partynight set, if you listen properly you will notice that Sasha only plays until the commercial break (its the first 25 or so minutes of his set from Dance Valley last year BTW)

chem, come on man. i know it's hard to swallow your pride sometimes, but sheesh dude, be resonable FFS. i guess it's hard for me to understand how you feel because i dont hold any dj in a 'god like status'. if ricardo villalobos played some cheeze and played tracks i had ripped on, i'd flippin rip on him for playing a bad set. it's not the end of the world. the dj's shouldnt be taken too seriously, it's ok to laugh about it once and awhile.

everytime someone posts something like this all there Hernan cats come out of the woodwork. Why doesn't someone just start a "Let's Praise Hernan" thread, so that they can talk about him all they want. I think the guy is one of the most boring dj's out there. He has no presence behind the dj booth. The guys needs to get up and act like he's actually enjoying the music.
