Re: Best Progressive DJ
that's funny because I hate the first 25 mins or so.. I fast forward it to get to the better stuff..first 25 mins is that lost music no direction.. I think sasha is going through a mid life crisis.. its showing in his sets..

Re: Best Progressive DJ
i'm with chem, sasha still rocks. he has his ups and downs, but nobody can touch his ups.
Re: Best Progressive DJ
progressive is in changing mode.. imo. prog is when a track is played and the progression before it and after. as for the best.. there are alot out there.. so how do you say one is the best.. so being the best is not what it's about its about the music and enjoying it....imo. progressive is in the eye of the beholder.
Re: Best Progressive DJ
well other than best prog dj. who might be known as some of the best prog producers. I'm voting for Suicide Sports Club, Cass, Quivver, Bedrock, Granite & Phunk. There really are so many.

Re: Best Progressive DJ
Desyn and Cattaneo!!! IMO
I love Hernan but Desyn puts me to sleep!!
Re: Best Progressive DJ
desyn used to play some cool ass shit. when i saw him open for digweed a little while back he tore the roof off. then when i caught him headlining a couple times, it was pretty mediocre.see : bedrock party 2005 in miami. i'd put luke fair over desyn.
Re: Best Progressive DJ
Sasha is the godfather of progressive house, although he's progressed since... 8)
Re: Best Progressive DJ
^^^ Chem. Sasha has lost it. I hate to tell you man. His music is piss poor lately. It seems ableton is really preventing him for exploring new grounds. His sound is always the same and his tracks are terrible'fuckingables. Before it was blinder, after blinder, after blinder, and before you knew it the six grams of charlie in your lap was stuck in your nose. Now he makes me want to listen to the Huey Lewis.
I am sorry Chem. :( That is a shinking ship.

"Sasha's lot it" yeah yeah, i've been hearing that shit for years, but who's still number 1? Ableton has given him the freedom to explore much more and he's never sounded better, i suggest your ears have lost it mate... ;)
Re: Best Progressive DJ
Have you heard sasha most recent partynight 538? Ohh what a pile of garbage.
He has gone off the deep end imo.

Chem, I still so love Sasha. Just recently he has not been up to par. He still does surprise me every once in a while. and Usually 99.8 percent of sets are fucking blinders to the 3rd degree. His track selection is what is killing me. He still is a very good dj, and he still will rock me. I just hate looking into the past. ;)

lol, i've been through this before
It isn't Sasha, it's the partynight host, Sasha is only 25mins before the commercial break.
SASHA Badger - Rise Of The Machine Daft Punk - Technologik (Sasha Edit) Beanfield Feat Bajka - Tides (C's Movement #1) (Carl Craig Mix) ? COMMERCIAL BREAK PARTYNIGHT HOST Lower East Side - Sword Fight (Trent Cantrelle Remix) Street Angels - Another Day [Re-Actor & DJ Arne L II?s Dub Mix] ? Wonderland Ave - White Horse Red Carpet - Alright (Brad Carter Remix ) Speedcats feat. Owen Jarvis - Speedcats (Original Mix)
ok :)
Re: Best Progressive DJ
oh well that explains it, my bad....
Unfortuantyly for alot of us, all we have to go by is what we hear via download....its been a while since i have gotten a killer sasha set that was great from beginning to end
i am not a sasha basher...i happpend to think he has enormous talent. he was excellent the last time i saw him live. but i do feel he isnt at the same level he once was....
Re: Best Progressive DJ
i would be a sasha fluffer.
Re: Best Progressive DJ
^^^^^^^ hey that is chem's job :p
Re: Best Progressive DJ

Re: Best Progressive DJ

whatever sporto, but take this into account, Sasha's name alone has filled clubs and raves all over the world since 1990 or so, and still his name on a flyer will guarantee a full club, and the reason? because he is the best, nobody can touch what Sasha does, always a step ahead. Name one other DJ (apart from Carl Cox) who has stood the test of time like Sasha? and is STILL number 1

Name one other DJ (apart from Carl Cox) who has stood the test of time like Sasha? and is STILL number 1
tiesto packs out clubs everywhere in the world. more so then sasha.
and is it because he's the best? or does a lot of that have to do with name familiarity. a lot of people know sasha and/or digweed because of there work together. almost any mindless punter can spout of sasha and digweed off the top of their head. but your right, the average punter is likely to see sasha because they know what they are going to get. if they have to choose between what they already know, and an unknown dj, or someone they arnt as familiar with, it's pretty obvious what they will choose.
and tiesto again will play a prime example, the dude packs it out week after week, but we all know where he stands...just because people show up doesn't mean your good. i heard on the internet someone ACTUALLY paid money to see oakenfold last week...so he must of rekindled that magic from '00? detroit;s biggest super bowl party? tommy lee. people know his name. they will show up. does that make him a good dj?
