Re: sander k guest mix 11-26-05

set's ok... mixing was good, but i wasn't feeling the track selection. i think a lot of it has to do with being at work and in a bad mood monday morning. i fucking hate work.

i'll give this set a listen again later, but i wasn't impressed today. :(

Re: sander k guest mix 11-26-05

Well i cannot believe the worst guest mix i would ever hear on Digweeds show would be from the calibre of someone like Kleinenberg, complete cack, can't say anything else really, just total sh*te!

"gonna ride.... ride the white horse"

"if you wanna be rich.... you gotta be a bitch"

i mean, for fks sake, what TOTAL bo*cks!

Not a bad mix from sander but I thought he threw in to many big name tracks though.
dance music doesn't work when you're in a bad mood...
sure it does you just need to play some DJ Rush or Chris Leibing to work out the aggresison!

Re: sander k guest mix 11-26-05

What about some chris liberator. "One night in hackney" will definitely blow your doors clean off.

I rarely slag DJs for their sets, but Sander could do so much better. Yes he could rock a room, but where's the fun and talent when he's doing it with played out big-name tracks... I want to hear a dj challenge me and this set couldn't be any further away from a challenge and unfortunately because of that boring.

I mean seriously Muscle car, White horse, Tom Novy's Your Body, MV's Mr. Roboto remix, the Tiefschwarz track and Pryda's aftermath...real challenging material there...I mean if I could trainspot em, and I suck at trainspotting, he must be playing well known tunes.

I listened to his new cd and both his and burridge's sets are pretty good, but as for other sets (especially live ones) he seems to have stopped challenging himself or his crowd. It's really a shame though cause I know he could better...I just don't think he cares to anymore.

Re: sander k guest mix 11-26-05

i had more fun with his Everybody On Tour cd than with this mix .. this just sounds like he didnt put much effort with the mix but just putting together what works best on the dancefloor currently :what

He died some time around 2002. Listen to his nubreed cd, his 2001 kiss set, and then listen to this crap. Typical example of what happens when fame hits a dj. If any of you turkeys had heard one of his live sets from 01/02 this set would bring tears to your eyes and a vommit taste to your mouth.
dance music doesn't work when you're in a bad mood...
no, bad dance music doesn't work when you're in a bad mood -- good dance music puts you in a good mood.

it's all gone pete tong, he's lost his egde, he don't give a fuck

the only thing sader than this set is the fact that you turkeys like it. get a clue

Re: sander k guest mix 11-26-05

To my friends Ben and Lucas.... I didnt care much for this kiss mix, I wont argue with you guys on that at all..

but I KNOW FOR A FACT...... neither one of you guys has stepped foot into one of Sander's parties in the past year (last new years maybe, I wasnt on MS till January) and I have been on the dancefloor till close monthly for Sander at crobar. While I could do without some of the fluffier tracks such as this guest mix, the man slams, beats, and works his dancefloor in top form for at least the final 3 hours of the night regularly.

On top of that, if he just didnt care anymore then why would he have walked out of the club last week and come directly up to my friend and I to apologize for not being totally on point for the night... (he knows our faces and our dancemoves well at this point) And then he wished us a happy holiday and told us his next date in NYC in february and that he's taking some time off tour and going into the studio for a while? Not to mention the fact that he has a 1 and 1/2 year old daughter that should rightfully command some of his attention elsewhere at times...

If anything I would say he's just releasing the wrong part of the night for some odd reason, but hasnt lost his touch or his amazingly powerful vibe. If we were to base all of our opinions on 2 released hours from the past year for every DJ I think we'd not only be being unrealistic, we'd be locking ourselves away from the truly powerful and amazing sets that have those moments that can only happen on the dancefloor.

Duh

Re: sander k guest mix 11-26-05

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm judging based on the everybody and this kiss

I will admit I have not caught him live recently, and his fokused set rocked

just sad that once a dj gets big they have to spend half their time releasing crud IMO

but perhaps that's how it goes

Re: sander k guest mix 11-26-05

the "this is not electro" song should be ms's anthem

#520026Post 39 of 77

Re: sander k guest mix 11-26-05

I hear you Mike, but I had been to see Sander in the last year...granted it was a while back in Feb or March, I believe. I even felt it that night. While his visuals certainly add a lot to his show and his set was driving all the way through, it didn't quite hit me in that sweet spot. Maybe it's the constant breakdowns (which is a reason I don't like Morillo) or the type of electro he was playing...basically I found those filler tracks lacking and that's where I feel djs show their true colors. I don't just want to jump around all night, I want to go through that up and down journey that makes it more enjoyable and easier getting through the night.

and I should take back that comment on him not caring. I've read a good number of his interviews and he's always been a classy guy that wants to push his sets forward and I respect that (though as I've said we've just grown apart musically)...but this set was sloppy and without much effort (at least I hope not).

as I say often, different strokes for different folks...
