I'm really glad I could please you. I really think people should see criticism as part of how we enjoy and are involved in music. Sure it is probably better to not say anything if you don't like something but I see nothing wrong with a little fair and intelligent criticism. I really and truly believe Osamu is one of the most talented progressive producers in the world and after giving this mix a better listen I think it is another example of that. However, I also see nothing wrong with a little discussion. That's where the fun is right? I don't take the negative things people say about my music personally, that is just part of putting yourself out there. I think criticism does more to further you as an artist than praise. When someone takes the time to say something, good or bad, you should take the time to listen. Nothing I said was meant as a personal attack on Osamu even if it was negative.

ok fair enough. i agree that criticism and discussion is a critical part of the scene. but it seemed like the first few responses were of people who just didnt know what they were talking about and were totally slamming the guy because he didnt play what they wanted. those are the same people who will rip djs for "following the crowds" but then rip them when they don't hear exactly what they want. almost as if they're critism was becoming more of a detrement then anything that could be viewed as a positive.

i think all you people with your stupid labels need to stfu.

Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
...and this is the part of message boards that i cant stand. an opinion is one thing but out and out bashing a bloke for playing what he feels at the time is another. and this "i hate electro" that seems to be on everyones lips lately.. seems laughable, because 4 out of 5 of you dont seem to know what electro really is...
just my .02
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss

Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
if the music sounds horrible to the ears then call it ELECTRO.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
^^^ not true. it is called noise aka HC.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
country = electro rap = electro
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
anti-electro backlash = tech house

I'm no expert on electro or tech or whatever you want to call it as I've used the labels (with like) added on the end to describe the sound. What I do think is worth pointing out though is the record stores themselves are pushing the current sound as electro as well. So who is the authority on labeling stuff? My guess would have been the labels/distributors since it needs to be catagorized in order to sort the trance from the house etc.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
^^ blah blah blah, this argument bores me
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
I'm not trying to argue, i'm asking a genuine question. Who do we trust if even the people pushing the music are labeling it as such?
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
i trust my ears ... imo.
i go to Circuit City and they have Sasha under Rock.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
Yeah but were talking about places like Release not Circuit City. Its even surprising they carry Sasha.
I guess the true test would be if you told me about some great track and told me to go to my local record shop, what section should I be looking under?
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
Record stores go by labels, at least most. I hated that at first, but I love it now.

i wasnt really directing that AT you, just the whole electro and what is and isnt thats all.. sorry.. i have mates that play electro from the days of way back in the early 90's. i have posted a link on here a few times to some electro sets, and it just goes unnoticed.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
I have watched Osamu gradually change his style over the past year, but he plays according to his mood...he's very experimental. He's goes outside his comfort range, always looking to take on a challenge. He moves with the times. He's been expanding his music range for a while, especially these days...he wants to cater to everyone...but you can't please all the people all the time Osamu plays to suit....not just acid house and electro.....he's got a wide range of tunes
so ill put his private set n if u were dissapointed with kiss set ull definely be able to feel his fantastic vibe on this one http://s25.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=16RIVEP0X6QR603X5PSVDVUV1Q
thanks alot for the link man, this mix definitely sounds better to me..
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
I regret what i said...uncalled for comments based on his kiss mix alone.
The unfortunate thing is many of us dont get to hear alot of what djs play unless we see them play live. Radio sets like kiss mixes are all we have to get to know the dj.
I am sorry for my negative outburst...I think alot of it had to do with my mood... Osamu is an excellent producer/dj and just because his most recent kiss mix didnt feel right to me does not justify the comments i made.
This private mix was very very good...Definalty felt it alot more than the kiss mix.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
thanks alot for the link man, this mix definitely sounds better to me..
?you welcome!!im happy to hear that man.i swear he is great DJ n Producer right now. ?:D
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
The Kiss mix was a bit of a let down compare to the previous one but it was still solid over all.
