u should talk man..u used to bash hernan all the damn time.....evertime i would say anything about hernan you would post and attack the shit out of him.
i agreee i was being a bit harsh in my comments. they were uncalled for. i realize the talent that osamu m has, i was just disappointed in the set. i was expecting something else. sorry if i offended anybody. i will shut my trap from now on. Personally if somebody hated the music i played i wouldnt mind the critcisism.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
jacob - you say that his productions are top notch yet you hate the mix - the mix has 4/5 osamu productions/remixes in there. are you saying you dislike his current productions and you are urging him to return to his former style, or to play more proggy?

yeah that is different. it is Hernan. and i also was fucking with you.
we square. we will just have to wait till next.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
I guess I should be more clear.
I think all of the Osamu tracks I have heard up until this mix had an amazing mix of energy and emotion that is rarely heard in dance music today.
I think the music on this current mix lacks that same level of emotion. In addition, I strongly dislike most "party" dance music. I know I'm in the minority but I like my music dark and serious. Osamu clearly departed from the serious to the party side of things and for me that is a let down. For him or someone else that may be fine.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
^ I see - nothing wrong with dark and serious music mate, I love it too!
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
there is only one true dark and serious music ... drum and bass.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
chuckc...you bash the shit out of djs on here continously (granted i just roasted erick morillo pretty good, but that guy is a wanker). i dont think you appreciate the effort that goes into crafting a mix by people as talented as osamu...
i'd LOVE to hear a mix from you man, and until that day comes...pop a vallium and relax.
I appricate and understand all the effort djs put in. I really dont need to hear any crap from you day4night. I am huge music fanatic. i have always been my whole life. I am very passionate about music. I just have very strong feelings about all the music I listen to and I try to be Honest and true in my feelings. In fact in older topics about Osamu M i have gone out of my way expressing how much i am into what he plays. I still think his last kiss mixes is one of the best ever.
There are so many times that I have given many positive comments about dj sets that I hear.
I sometimes am sorta harsh in my comments and i need to change that. I have to be more creative in my negative opinions.
And if you want to hear one of my mixes you will have to pay for that.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
there is only one true dark and serious music ... drum and bass.
sorry but your wrong.. dnb has the same party clown shit going on,
"reeeeeewind"
btw ed rush and optical is a perfect example for good artists becoming cheese all the way.
moreover i will not continue to repeat how i dislike a set.. next time i´ll maybe just don´t give the new one a listen and its ok. all about pushing the sound i like, not complaining about the sound i hate ;)
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
that's it.
go here and tell me that is not dark and good. http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/showthread.php?p=231972#post231972
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
teebee is one of the leading persons in dark dnb, got all his albums ..his label subtitles pure quality! also check out phace. really good producer from germany. btw very much liked kemal in the past, but he doesnt do dnb anymore :(
however like in every music there is also cheese hehe baron, twisted individual, clipz, mostly everything on ram rec (just to name a few)
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
grab that. you will love it. yes there is. there is always cheese.
/anti cheese.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
Amazing to read all these negative postings. I listened to this mix yesterday evening and I thought it rocked from the 2nd track on. I could have done without Aftermath because I heard it too often lately as well but that's also no Crime against Humanity lol. Yesterday, when I played the mix, I turned the Volume up on the 3rd track and really loved it and today after Osamu posted the tracklist to me, I found out that it´s his own track Clockwork (Original Mix) [CDR]. :) No complaints on my side and you guys sometimes have an odd way of showing your passion.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
try to get the first subtitles mix cd.. old tunes by polar and future prophecies. ;)
edit: sorry for thread hijacking..
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
funny you mention that. it is pretty hard to get real good drum & bass cds/sets/etc/
i also have a high standard for that music, so it is not as forgiving as house/progressive/tech/.
i think i have that. i will look or buy. thxs.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
i need to know dnb better. maybe there should be a dnb thread rather than jacking the osamu m thread. ;)

any jungle fans out there?

Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
it sucks, but what can you do ... anyway. for you idiots that did not give the set a chance ... around 35:01, the set goes for a nasty spin for some goodies.
I totally agree-I was reading this thread and was kind of shocked to hear some of the negativity that was coming through-I DEFINITELY wasn't wild about this set and so was going to make a post about not liking it particulary well but by no means would I have made the assumption that he has taken a turn for the worse based on one mix-hey if that was they case I'd have to kill myself because I think two of my mixes with Andy Newland the other night were a little abrupt (no wrecking just too quick)
It def does get better at 36 and I'm sure this cat hasn't lost his edge-his WMC promo was pretty damn hot too
And although I respect everyone who "hates" electro there does seem to be a lot of "hating" in general on some of these people's parts

Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
i dont hate electro in general, tight and crisp beats like habersham are always welcome. moreover digging 34bpm on proton! but seriously, sometimes its just getting too much with those weird melodies and siren sounds.. no plot
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
u guys better tune in to mercury sessions right now! Osamu`s live at Ageha mix is playin and its HOT! 8)

you are sex. loved it. thank you.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
Ok I listened through again more carefully and there a bunch of sick tracks on the mix.
In particular I really enjoyed:
Osamu M - Clockwork (Original Mix) [CDR] Satoshi Fumi - Moment Of Truth (Osamu M Emagine Mix) [Metamotional] Yana Kay - Waiting For Your Love (Osamu M Submerge Mix) [Deeselecta] Co-Fusion - Hot! Hot! (Osamu M Emagine Mix) [Reel Musiq]
I loved Osamu's first Kiss so much I guess I got worked up when it wasn't totally what I expected. My bad.

just make sure if you can dish out criticism, you can take it too. and paying for your mix?...we dont pay for mixes from the pros...what would make yours worth $$?

you really only need to hear that track once, imo
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss

Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
^ ^ I thought the PS2 did that.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
I never used to like electro either, but I'm surprising myself cause it's growing on me...and after listening to his set a few more times there are some funktastic tunes that get better each time....it's the revival of an old sound, something we should try to open our minds to before we write it off completely...I have a sneaky suspicion it's gonna be big in the future. Osamu is bold for taking risks and experimenting with new sounds, even if it isn't your kind of thing, let's give Osamu a break... RESPECT to Osamu M.....We love you!!!

I enjoyed it too. Osamu is keeping on doing good works ! I feel nice vibe from him every time.
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
Having given the set a few good listens, I like it. It is not too electro/techy, although it definitely has some of that influence, it still has the pace and cadance of prog, so it works for me. Nice job Osamu, you have struck a nice balance here.
(please note I never said I didn't like the mix, just ranted about Tech/Electro in general)
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
I went to see Osamu M last July at AGEHA in Tokyo...He really took control of the atmosphere, and the connection between Osamu and the crowd was out of this world! Everyone was totally inside his music. Broadcasting doesn't capture that kind of energy. :Twilo:
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
I´ve lost track of the ammount of times I´ve seen people on this board dissing so-called "electro" sets after listening to them once and then returning later to say that they´ve listened again and now they like it.
For fans of progressive music, some people don´t seem to keep a very open mind...
I partly understand these reactions though...tech/electro isn´t usually "easy-listening", I took some time to get into this sound and some of it IS boring and lazy, no doubt, but it confuses me to see some people dismiss it so easily around here.
My "moment of clarity" came with Chris Fortier´s Balance CD´s and Kiss mix...and I now feel that this type of stuff takes me back to what got me into Dance music in the 1st place, which was techno. Stuff like my precious old Dave Clarke, Plastikman, Joey Beltram and Jeff Mills CD´s...before those, I enjoyed very few dance tracks, but those CD´s made my head spin...and this sound partially reminds me of it...
As you can guess, I loved this set...and I mean, don´t tell me a set like this won´t work on a dancefloor, for example...listen to this loud and then come back here. Excellent sequencing and pace (like someone said before me), great chunky, funky tunes.
Props to Osamu for following his heart and his own path.

Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
I have watched Osamu gradually change his style over the past year, but he plays according to his mood...he's very experimental. He's goes outside his comfort range, always looking to take on a challenge. He moves with the times. He's been expanding his music range for a while, especially these days...he wants to cater to everyone...but you can't please all the people all the time Osamu plays to suit....not just acid house and electro.....he's got a wide range of tunes
so ill put his private set n if u were dissapointed with kiss set ull definely be able to feel his fantastic vibe on this one http://s25.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=16RIVEP0X6QR603X5PSVDVUV1Q
Re: Osamu M on kissssssss
wow, i just read this thread for the first time today.
it's SHITE imo.
osamu, taking critism from people who call "Aftermath" electro would be silly. the whole electro things been discussed 150 million times on this board, and still most cant really grasp the new direction house is taking. it's just like people with "popular" muscial taste referring to all EDM as "techno". you guys are doing the exact same thing by calling it electro!!!
it's embarassing. some people just progress slower then others, and some don't progress at all. it's not your fault. i'm sure there are other boards who very much enjoyed your mix and the change of pace you brought.
and taking heat from some prog breaks guy, i mean come on dude. he said he doesn't like "party" music, so that means anything that produced with the intent to move a crowd at a party is shite. so trentemoller, tiefshwarz, m.a.n.d.y are all nothing but no talent ass clowns. i am shocked i read such a narrowminded statement from jtodd. this is a perfect reflection on why prog house is losing so many djs. the prog crowd doesnt want music to progress. they all want sasha from '01 back and cant let go of the past. fuck move on guys. what a terrible terrible shame.
dude the thing is jtodd, breaks do nothing for me. aboslutely nothing. i dont care for them, i dont like to dance to them, i dont like to listen to them, i just plain and simple dont like them. breaks to me, isnt party music. ESPECIALLY prog breaks. they are good for when i need to fall asleep real quick at night, but when im awake or at the club, fuck em. but thats just me dude. it doesnt mean nobody else should listen to them, it just means i inperticular, dont care for them. am i going to go on every breaks board and tell them to listen to electro instead because i think its more "serious". thats maybe what bothered me the most about what you said. and regardless of my distaste for breaks, i wont sit here and say the breaks producers suck ass and there music is shit and not serious. the music just isnt my style, and we look for different things when we listen to music, isn't that the beauty of sub genres?
kinetic said it spot on -
Props to Osamu for following his heart and his own path
reading this thread was very discouraging.

im quoting this in hopes people will re-read his post. i agree completly and found it to be insightful and accurrate.
i just can not understand the state prog house is in, but slowly it's starting to matter less and less.

You might want to finish reading through my posts though. I already recanted my previous statements upon closer examination.
