Re: Wisdom teeth

I took the 2 in the right side first and then the other two... not a good idea. I would go for the whole four yards and get over it. Good luck, it sucks.

UUUUUUUUUUNNGHHNNNGH pain.

lots of pain.

need more applesauce.

I checked out invisalign, but it won't work for my teeth. apparently two of my teeth are rotated too much, which is something that invisalign can't fix. I'm going to get the ceramic/clear-colored braces, so it won't be a christmas tree in there.

Re: Wisdom teeth
I have only had one out so far. But regret not getting the other three out when I had the first one taken out. They've been nothing but trouble. What the hell is so wise about them???
it's nothing wise about them they are called wisdom molars because they erupt at ages when a lot of intelectual activity is developed by your brain

Re: Wisdom teeth

I'm a dentist as well. I agree with Qwerty completely. I lean towards extraction (not in every situation) especially if I see the patient at an early age (18-25). Not only can they cause problems themselves (ie cavities, infections, etc) they can also sometimes damage the adjacent teeth depending on the postion that they are in. On numerous occassions, patients have come in with full-blown cavities on their second molars mostly due to the malposotion of the third molars and the tension that they are placing on the back side of the seconds. Also, upon eruption, if there is insufficient room in the arch, they can cause crowding of the rest of the teeth, most noticably, the anteriors or front ones.

If it has been recommended to have them extracted, do it now while the teeth aren't bothering you. Nothing worse than a patient coming in to the office a year or 2 after I recommended that they be taken out and in severe pain. The younger you are the shorter the recovery time.

Re: Wisdom teeth

Re: Wisdom teeth

Poor Pickles...have a pill. Or a dozen.

Hope you're better in a day or two man. I had one taken out, and the only nasty thing about it was the tampon that brushed the region just above my throat, causing me to hurl every 5 mins for the time I needed to have the thing in. I might get at least one other removed, it sometimes cuts into my cheeck a little bit...

Re: Wisdom teeth

I am sure you will be fine in a day or two...Hope you feel better soon!

Re: Wisdom teeth

the top of my mouth is fine... the bottom is a different story. I have stitches all over both sides of the bottom of my mouth, it hurts to open/chew, and it tastes like my cat took a bloody piss in my mouth. the percocet is helping, but not as much as I'd like it to.

Re: Wisdom teeth

you get all sorts of "goodies" to make it less painful too....

:)

Re: Wisdom teeth

I had all my wisdom teeth pulled out a couple of years ago. It was actually quite painless. The only problem was that I had to avoid the al-key-hall for a bloody week. One of the worst weeks of my life.

#508984Post 56 of 72

Re: Wisdom teeth

worst part was not being able to eat for 2 weeks, for me anyway

#509006Post 57 of 72

Re: Wisdom teeth

I had all my wisdom teeth taken out when I was 18. It was actually a pretty good time. I woke up not remembering anything with blood dripping down my mouth and my mom making me a shake. I also got a whole bunch of goodies to take like hydrocodine and vicodine. I felt no pain, the only thing that sucked was having to sleep in a chair with my head up for two days and not being able to eat hard food for two days. Have fun.

Re: Wisdom teeth

i had all 4 of mine done at the same time too- it wasn't that bad...

if u have lots of pain try having a popsicle or sucking on ice, i found that really helped me out- well that and lots of painkillers :)

Re: Wisdom teeth

I had all 4 removed when I was 19. I had no pain after and didnt take the pills. Only thing was I had a couple of holes that food now found its way into. I had to dig it out daily with a toothpick for a couple weeks. That wasnt fun.

Hope u get more pills and feel better man

fuckthisshitmyteethhurtandihavenopills
sucks big time man, there are several ways to trea dry sockets, but in dental office it must have been a traumatising extraction this thing happends in 5% of the extraction cases, mostly due to severe trauma of tissues and not really clean extraction it happends most often on the lower jaw, but still, if you're working clean and you take you're caution measures, this thing happends like once in 50 extractions cases i'm sorry it happend to you, see you're dentist and i hope he will treat it right this time he has to make some blood socket irrigation there, in order to form the blood clot take some antibiotics and some anti-inflammatory drugs from the pharmacy, or if you have some at home it's even better i dont know the laws in your contry, but they may not give you this pills shitty man, really shitty
