Re: Some of my research as I promised

Show me a post where I have insisted that someone's mind be changed and I will say I am sorry.

If I am to be called closed-minded because I believe something different than most people on this board then it is what it is.

Even after I have explained what I was doing with that post you still are convinced otherwise and you say it is my problem?

No matter what anyone says in this forum out of this forum or anywhere else, the bottom line is it is in God's providence to bring judgement on a city for its iniquities and I will not back down or apologize for saying that as it is the truth according to the Bible.

It may not be the truth other people believe but that does not make it untrue just because others can't swollow it, and it does not make me a bad person for sticking to my beliefs even under intense verbal assault.

It is what it is and I will not back down from what God says just because others are hurt by it. I know what the Bible says and I can put all my life on it and there is no amount of name calling and finger pointing that is going to change that. If you want me to show you scripture as to why I believe what I believe then ask and ye shall recieve. If not then let me say what I want to say as much as I let everyone else say what they want to say without assalutling them for saying it.

The only thing I am sorry about in this thread is that the people who say I am not tolerant about others beliefs are the very people that are being intollerant to my beliefs. You are hypocrites in that respect.

Make no mistakes about it, I am 100% against homosexuality and I will never accept it as being OK because God says it is wrong. I will not waiver on that. It is my belief and I'm sticking to it.

And yes God kills good faithful Christians while He is bringing judgement on the unrighteous because those solid in the faith and with a true understanding of the Gospel do not fear death because all it does is sends them home. There is a song we sing in service: "this world is not my home, I am just passing through. My treasure are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me from Heavens open door and I cant feel at home in this world anymore."

If anyone wants to believe that I said that in a hateful manner then do so. Makes no difference to me as it is your opinion and you are entitled to it. I, unlike most of you here who have belittled me, know how to let people believe what they want and be adult about it.

If you do not want to follow God because he says you cant do something or this is wrong and that is wrong then don't. It is your choice, but if you are going to willilngly participate in a conversation, be it in person or online, that you know aforehand is about religion and the second something comes up that you disagree with you start badgering and belittling the person for saying it then do not participate in the conversation.

Make no mistakes about it, I really enjoy talking with people, and I have been a member of this forum before 90% of you even knew it existed, but I am not going to change my views or thoughts on a subject because others do not agree with it. That is weak and shows no conviction to anything if you are willing to slide from side to side to please everyone. It is weak and spineless and I am neither. I am convinced.

If you want to oppose my views on the Bible then do so and I will continue to speak for the Lord. There is plenty of good conversation in some of the things I have planned to post here in the future, but make no mistakes about where I stand......on the promises of God :!:

Re: Some of my research as I promised
No, it's not that easy. It could be the case that the spin and tilt that make life here possible are a function of the earth's mass. It could be that the earth's mass and the fact that it only has one moon are related.

I'm talking out of my ass here and am not professing to have any specialized knowledge about whether or not these things are interrelated, but the fact is that you can't automatically assume that they are all completely independent, either...
Correct. I'm not a specialist either, but magnetic field is defo related to mass. I would venture that mass also determines the distance from sun and the spin. Tilt possibly too. No idea about the moon. That's one thing. The other is that assuming probabilities on the basis of the current state in a particular place (like only earth has 1 moon out of ten planets in our solar system etc) doesn't make sense at all. It's like saying you're lucky getting 3 6's on 3 dices with one throw but not taking into account you were throwing 10 dices that time, only you took the rest away afterwards so nobody can see...

So overall, cdj, it's cool you read a lot about space and earth and everything, but before you pretend to make your own theories, read something about scientific reasoning too.

Re: Some of my research as I promised

My last say on this issue CDJ:

 1. your life's rules have been laid down in a book, rendering your worldview static. No matter how much I oppose your views you will always have an answer that is written down. I still heve seen no serious effort to defend or voice an opinion that was not directly related to the Bible. But I guess that is a no-no when that book literally dictates your life.

 2. You just don't seem to get that by simply telling other people their way of life is wrong, you are insulting them. I know I have been pretty rough in the beginning, but if you read those posts you will notice that I was arguing against the Church, the institution, not your person. I even apologized for my harsh language notheless in a later post. It's not that hard you know.

I will do so now again if I ever belittled you in any way. Although I am pretty certain I haven't done that, because all the while I'v never forgotten that you are a human being just like me, and you have a wife and kids who love you, and you are good to them and you love them. I didn't forget the person behind the posts mate.

I'm just thru with this discussion. I'm not gonna argue anymore, because just like I said before: I cannot argue with a book. It's like talking to a brick wall: it will neither change nor even consider wether there's any truth or wisdom in my words.

Re: Some of my research as I promised

that was not directed at you yao it was a general statement because if by chance you did not notice there qere many insults hurled at me by many people, not just you.

it was a general post because all I have done since my creation thread is defend myself against a flurry on insults from other people for posting things about God.

I am not trying to change anyone. You can not chane people. They can only change themselves.

I am however offering reasons why I believe what I believe after the creation thread because I have been repeatedly attacked for believing it. My intention of these threads was to post some info about creation, not to defend myself every post from God-haters but none-the-less I continue to do so.

If people can not read what I post and see that it was just information and if they want to assume that I am trying to change their views then it is their error for reading more into it than is there.

I can not say in any other words that the object of the couple threads was to share information, not to tell people that they are wrong. I have not said anyone was wrong.

In fact I want someone to point out to me where I have said that they are wrong for not believing me. Consider this a challenge to anyone who thinks I said that. Bring me proof.

Re: Some of my research as I promised

hey CDJ, GUESS WHAT??? This is a music board! I havent seen you post pne GODDAMNED thing about music in a long time. Except singing to your delusion in the sky at church, without those forbidden musical instruments of course. So why are you still here?

#505185Post 88 of 96

Re: Some of my research as I promised

Hold it there..

you did mention in one way or another at several occasions that people were wrong in their worldviews, and that you hoped that they would see the truth someday and that you would pray for them. I don't think I need to go on a copy and paste streak to prove that, and I think you will admit that.

It wasn't about people being wrong for not believing you at all....

And yes, you have had to defend yourself against quite a few people here, including me. Of all places, this must be among the most difficult to defend your lifestyle, given the extemely liberal (lifestylewise) and open character of most people around here...

I am only speaking for myself here, but I do not mind you having a different view on things at all. I just get really frustrated when in a discussion you defend your opinion by quoting from a book. If you're informing me that is no problem, but I was trying to do a little benign written swordfighting here, not to follow Bibleclasses. Yes, some passages may be vital to explain your point indeed, but along the road I got the feeling that you were kinda afraid to just say: wether the book backs this up or not, this is my opinion.Deal with it.

Because that is also fine man. It's an opinion, not a given truth, and you're entitled to have just like everyone else.

Re: Some of my research as I promised

Yes, CDJ, it is a number of us vs. you. Of course, you have the benefit of being able to fall back on, "Well, I just had this chat with a burning bush up on the mountain top, and it agreed with me, so I'm right just because I'm right, period," without having to offer any facts or anything, so that's a feather in your cap. Game on.
No matter what anyone says in this forum out of this forum or anywhere else, the bottom line is it is in God's providence to bring judgement on a city for its iniquities and I will not back down or apologize for saying that as it is the truth according to the Bible.
My father is a minister. I was brought up in a religious environment. With that background in mind, I simply cannot read this and not be appalled. Do you hang with Pat Robertson or something? Not to beat a dead horse, but a statement like this runs so counter to my upbringing, I just can't see this as anything other than ignorance and bigotry.
If you want me to show you scripture as to why I believe what I believe then ask and ye shall recieve.
Go for it. In fact, I'll do it for ye.

My understanding is that Leviticus 18:22 is the verse you Bible thumpers point to to demonstrate that homosexuality is wrong. Feel free to add any others you like. While you're at it, though, please explain why it is OK to cling like grim death to this particular verse, while we as a culture have stopped paying attention to so many other verses that outlaw things we now consider commonplace -- like cutting our hair -- or sanction things we consider deplorable -- like slavery. Also, let me know how you reconcile your obviously anti-gay beliefs with the other parts of the Bible that encourage tolerance and love for all.
The only thing I am sorry about in this thread is that the people who say I am not tolerant about others beliefs are the very people that are being intollerant to my beliefs. You are hypocrites in that respect.
That's possibly a fair point. On the other hand, I'll take hypocrisy over bigotry any day. If it turns out that I miss out on a great afterlife because I stood up against ignorance here in the material world, so be it.

Re: Some of my research as I promised

my 2c and im going to get attacked for it.

So Mr. CDJ believes in the bible. In the Bible the Lord brought destruction upon Sodom and Gomorrah because of their iniquities. Couldn't a believer in the Bible believe the same thing happened to NO? So if someone has strong beliefs in the Bible, they can interpret it that way. Wouldn't it also be wrong for anyone else to tear down his beliefs as well? If that is true then why are we all standing here instead of protesting against the Bible for uphelding the belief that Sodom and Gomorrah were destructed because of their abominations? After all the Bible and the prophets therein are claiming the same thing CDJ is.

Granted that is different because the Bible was written by prophets of God and CDJ is not one. But for the most of you opposing him the matter of revelation doesnt matter and I believe that you wouldnt think that CDJ has less power of revelation than any other prophet in the Bible (since you dont believe in such).

One more thing. I'm not sustaining CDJ's theory, I was just speaking some things wich have crossed my mind...

I fuckin love you guys. Most of you. Not in that man-on-man action sort of way, but in a breakfast club, smoking a joint in detention, sappy but good theme song as the credits roll sort of way.

Except for Yao, I love his buns. I've never seen them, but I hear they're precious.
