Re: Delta Heavy DVD

Just finished watching this and have mixed feelings about it. I think the documentary part of it with the interviews was not bad as -E- thought. It bothered me that its less than an hour long and that they didnt spend any real time on all the venues. I went to both Philly and NYC and not even any mention other than showing the billboard for the NYC show.

Question is was it worth the 3 year wait??? Dont know have to re-watch this again for a better analysis

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

The documentary is less than an hour long? Well the GU was only 55 minutes. But still packed with stuff. I'm guessing i'm going to have to wait another day or two to find out about this thing.

It would really be nice to see a lot of good behing the decks footage of those two greats going at it.

^^ Dr. Pessimistic in da houz.... :p

j/k dude, I didn't like it too much, one thing I did like was that the visual effects were created by the same dude who did the visuals during the intro part of the movie Se7en

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

got it last thursday. i think it was way to short. the actual tour video is only 29:54 long and there are additional interviews (uncut) with sasha, digweed, both of the together and jimmy. half of these interviews are cut into the main tour video so... i would have liked to have seen more of the venues and at least an hour or so of an uncut mix.

i bet all you you who went to the shows will enjoy it, but for us who were not there i dont think this DVD does justice to the tour. it feels like a "behind the scenes" VH1 type thing.

#530273Post 215 of 264

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

you're giving it too much credit calling it the Behind the scenes VH1 thing.... yes the real shows will remain unmatchable.... but heck at least do a half hearted justice to the video ....

#530274Post 216 of 264

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

I like behind the scenes, but i'd also like to see the actual footage of the shows, at least a mix or two of a few songs. To give you a feel for what the nights were really like.

Hopefully tomorrow i'll get mine.

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

Well I fired it up and watched the entire DVD last night....and I have got to say that it I really enjoyed the Documentary. I thought it was produced very well.

I agree with some of the people here, it would have been nice if they could have shown more concert footage with actual transistions between tracks...Hell i would love to have an enitre show on dvd.

But overall i thought the documentary was well put together...I really enjoyed the uncut interviews as well....

My least favorite part was the Visual Mix. I just didnt really dig the visuals or tracks that well in that short mix.

Sasha and digweed talk about how much they loved touring on a bus verses planes....and how they cant wait to do another tour in the US.... I sure hope some day they do another tour
i think some people pictured an arena packed like a concert would be
Yeah I couldnt understand Sasha and Digs negativity surrounding the Miami arena gig.....I was at the place the floor was not packed like sardeens but I personally liked it were u have some room to dance.

Little does everybody realize that there were a considerable amount of people up in the arena seats....Considering all those people there was a good turnout.

and I will say this. I will take the gig at mimia arena in 2002 over the joke of a show Sasha and dig put on at the AA areana this year...

If you were on the floor You couldnt move period. And if you were a little bit late to the show u coulnt even get on the floor...and once u left the floor u coulndt get back .And to top it off the sound was HORRIBLE and they only played for 2.5 maybe 3 hrs tops...and that for both sasha and dig...>That sure wasnt worth the 50 bux.

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

The funny thing about this docum. is that it's got a through out coverage of the begining - where everybody is optimistic about everything - and the end - where everybody thanks god it's over and optimistic again... Where's the middle?!!!

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

I received my copy yesterday last and watch the whole thing. I thought it was pretty good but the visual mix could have been longer. Besides for that have a couple of little complaints but that is it. Enjoy.

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

I got mine today and watched it. Was very suprised to see Tim Skinner and Lance Cashion in the film. I didn't know they were promoters.

I really liked everything about the documentary. I just wish it could've been longer, at least 1:30 to give you more to munch on. I know i'll be watching this day after day for at least the next two weeks.

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

So it says that it's in digital 5.1, but my reciever has digital up to 6 channels and I couldn't get it to play in 5.1. anyone else have this problem? Thought the dvd was cool, nothing mind blowing. Wish that we could've seen live footage with live tracks...but alas. Can't have everything! Glad to have physical memory of that night (which was one of the best nights of my life)

#534096Post 231 of 264

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

5.1 DTS is a decoding standard, even if your amp supports 6 channels, if its an older amp that doesn't support the 5.1 decoder, you wont get the effects

#534157Post 232 of 264

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

I've got the DTS decoder on my system, and NADA still. jankety IMO. I also just found out that the only extra interviews that work are sasha and the sasha/digweed. diggers and jimmy's solo interviews are bunk. Maybe it's just a faulty disc. Everyone else got the 5.1 to come up?

Very interested in watching this now. Good friend of mine is getting herself a copy for Christmas, so hopefully soon i'll get to do so.

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

On my dvd player I can look to switch between the types of sound encoding and my dvd says it's only a stereo two channel dvd. Nothing like 3.1 or 5.1 is on there. Just standard 2.0

Re: Delta Heavy DVD

O K.

I really don't understand the whole thing with the 5.1 anyway. Most of those tracks that dj's make are not mixed in 5.1 or even 3.1 they are mixed in STEREO. So what's the big deal with dance music in 5.1?

Labels like Moonshine have been making cd's with an optional DVD 5.1. surround track. So you can feel like you're in the middle of the dancefloor. I was hoping that they would've mastered some of the airdrawn and bedrock tracks so that during the live footage you could hear it in 5.1. (or even have the visuals track done in 5.1) If you haven't listened to one of those discs, you should check it out...the listening experience changes.
