on the old site i let my buddy who was in japan at the time use my log in to download kiss sets, but now that he is back in the states, i can just send them to him. since you guys are obviously having way too many people sharing user names, ill make sure i that i m the only one using it. can you guys make it so that once a user downloades a file once that they cant downloaded it for a while? you guys proplaby have already looked into it but i though i should still throw it out there.

I do download each Kiss100 mix twice. Once at work and once at home.

i tried several times but nothing happens ,im using safari and it looks like it wants to be downloaded but just a short blue space is filled and then nothing ,waiting and waiting and nothing , i tried and pressed the button maybe 10 times each set so i guess that is happening and each time we click the button is counting as download , had any problems downloading hernans radio show only kiss ones are giving me that problem ,

Wow... it's amazing how much this board has changed in the 2 to 3 something years I've been on it. All the board switching has made me dizzy. Anyway... I still love MS, but I find I get my Kiss sets faster from BT nowadays. Why hasn't MS gone to BT as well? Would save a bundle on bandwidth. Just curious.

i've tried both kiss sets several times, have gotten the 'too many users' thing everytime, and yet it still bumps the count.

ohh, and sometimes it does crash my browser (IE)

Because most people don't know how to handle torrents and avoid them. If we installed a tracker, it would be one more thing to maintain and one more free service where people would ask us a hole in the stommach how to configure, download, rename and what not so it?s not going to happen in near Future.

That's unfortunately the case. BT only works with files that are immensely popular. There are some BT trackers in the Promos and Recommendations forum and usually the swarms are too small for BT to be any good.

Hope a certain few abusers aint gonna spoil the download section for those that treat the site,moderators and other members with respect. I think whichever way you look at it no matter what lengths the mods goto to stop this kinda thing happening theres always gonna be people that will try and find away round the safeguards set up and abuse it (wasnt there a lot of this happening when the ftp was set up????). Im totally grateful for the work you guys do in hosting the sets.When i download them i hook my mates up with them via soulseek ok it might not be so fast but it saves them the hassle of posting and well i think the idea of upping the post count ( for acsess to the downloads ) would just leave the forums open to well dare i say it pointless posts i remember a guy actually admitting to it on here at one point( i just wanna get my post count up so i can get the downloads).Bottom line is people dont abuse it use it wisely else it'll be gone(maybe) if u wanna fix people up with the sets do it by other means soulseek,yousendit or mega upload . Just my 2 pennarth

I just downloaded the Sharon Schael set with no problems whatsoever.

Actually, I?ve never had any problems since the change, except when there?s too many people downloading a set.

I just downloaded the Palash set in about 5 mins :) so the speed is definatly up. Maybe users that where a bit more picky with there dl's because of time are now downloading all the availible sets?

Maybe you could go back to passwords and have some script that makes users insert their nickname and password. That way you could see who dls what.

How about running a torrent tracker aswell as a dl's page that way we could all help you out with bandwidth ,those that arn't fammiliar with bittorrents can wait to get them from the dl's page everyone else can get them from eachother .If the site continues to grow like you hope it will then maybe this is a long term option .Other than paying another $450 a month for another two servers.

oop's forgot to add this .. you say torrents are only feasable for popular files . torrents only work if you have people willing to seed after they have got what they wanted . this place is supposed to be a community .have a lil faith in community spirit

man it used to suck royally trying to get the hernan sets from the colliro bittorent site...

used to take all day (and many times it bogged down the system) vs....5 minutes that it takes on ms now......

it only the digweed sets that are getting raped....everything else works fine...if u wake up in the middle of the night...dl the sets then..

i had no problems getting the digweed set at 5am this morning.....

I saw that it was over 1000 today and thought it was a typo. I couldn't get the set the first time I tried, but the second worked just fine.

I haven't downloaded in months, so taking the d/l's down for a while wouldn't affect me too much.
