And I'm learning to appreciate vBulletin a lot more then PhP as well. Love all the latest changes

I have just visited a couple mac forums and it seems safari is not good at reading mime-types of attached files. I don't think I can help here :NotMe:

Re: Downloads Online!!!

Sounds fair enough. Since I am a prog-head and have gigs of mix sets from DJ's across the world, maybe this site could have uploads be traded for posts? Just a thought. Peace.

More and more people start to change their minds about the new look and the benefits of the vbulletin software. Glad to see this. 8)

Re: Downloads Online!!!

I'm trying to use NetPumper to dl the sets. It's an old version without all of the spyware crap in it. If I drag the link to NetPumper then all it downloads is a zero byte php file. I can download fine in IE by just clicking link, but what can I do to use NetPumper?

Alternatively, what other download managers do peeps on the board use?

#481126Post 133 of 159

Re: Downloads Online!!!

we've disabled the download managers to protect the links cause even though the stats on the downloads page showed 200 downloads, Cpanel was showing me 900... which meant the direct links to the sets were being circulated way more than we realized and we had to take this step to protect our bandwidth

#481139Post 134 of 159

Re: Downloads Online!!!

So say thanks to all the people who whored the links around and sent them to people who do not belong to our community or can't be arsed to make a handful of postings.

Arseholes - it's a shame that the perps can't be id'd.

No problem though - perhaps the DL page should be changed:
Click on 'download' to download a set - no passwords are needed. If you are using a download manager, drag the link onto your dm icon
Re: Downloads Online!!!

Came in here to check about download managers and yes I think that download page needs to be rectified 'cos I was wondering why Netpumper Pro was trying to download filescraper.php or whatever :wink:

But good job with the download section, much more streamlined without having to check passwords, and I like the way sets are organized/displayed (or maybe it's the color scheme that is making the difference )

Re: Downloads Online!!!

DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was pretty much the only way I was getting my sets. I need to use my getright to download the sets in segments. I fucking hate this dial up bullshit. I can't wait to move and immediately have cable modem service.

Re: Downloads Online!!!

Good work guys on the new forum. It's definately an improvement compared to the old one when it comes to navigating around.

Keep up the good work. :)

Re: Downloads Online!!!

this is the old Seanpual.....

Well I might have to start all over...I've been waiting for access for a while, but my old account (as the server changed) has gotten wiped! Is this going to happen anymore..? Honestly I like the new MS but all the changes made me give up on it for a while....it gets annoying when you are logged on one day, and go back the next day and see a completely new MS and have no account.....

Honestly I would rather just pay a monthly fee to have access to the Downloads, can I do that...Donations or anything..? I've been with out Downloads for over a year now, and I'm going crazy.......

How about a post count, or donation to gain access to the downloads..?

Re: Downloads Online!!!

Sean, please PM me your previous username or email address, let me dig up your account in the database because as far as I know, not a single account was lost during the import

#484156Post 143 of 159

Re: Downloads Online!!!

^there is a post count in effect. posting more than once a month will gain you access to the downloads and less probabilities that the site changes with each visit. it's a win-win

Re: Downloads Online!!!

would it be too much to ask for u guys to enable download managers for the download section?? its frustrating to keep getting the 'All downloads have been completed' msg from FF and to find out that only half the file had been downloaded and i have to get start downloading from the top all over again :(

#484801Post 145 of 159

Re: Downloads Online!!!

I doubt it bro.... while some are using download managers for their own benefit, there are those who are actually using the links from the download managers to bypass all security and share links with the world...... its always a few bad peeps who ruin it for the world

#484812Post 146 of 159

Re: Downloads Online!!!

damn those bad nuts for ruining it for honest folks like us

#484813Post 147 of 159

Re: Downloads Online!!!

You can probably use Flashget for FF in conjunction with FlashGot. It will allow you to resume your downloads if your on dial up

#484817Post 148 of 159

Re: Downloads Online!!!

i have flashget for ff but that doesnt work with the download section no more .... but correct me if im wrong for i might be a doofus with these configurations sometimes

#485039Post 149 of 159

Re: Downloads Online!!!

I just tested it out. I'm using FF 1.0.6, FlashGot Extension for FF version 0.5.9.6 and FlashGet 1.65 beta1 and it worked fine as long as I downloaded one set at a time. For some reason the Paul Woolford mix wouldn't work after I was already downloading the Digweed mix, but if I downloaded them one at a time it worked.

By the way I got the names backward in the original post. Its FlashGot which is the Extension for FF and FlashGet is a stand alone program. Then I just told FlashGot to use FlashGet and viola. Try it that way because if your only using FlashGet (the standalone) without FlashGot (extension) it doesn't work.
