Interesting new look! Kinda dark and brooding. I'll wait for the new board to sink in before deciding if it rocks or sucks :Tongue:

But the navigation seems to have been cleaned up, which is always good.

Anothing thing I've noticed, the board (or page generation) seems to be a bit sluggish, I assume that'll get tweaked.

Did I miss something or does the MercuryNation domain no longer work??

For those that think it makes their eyes bleed I think after a little browsing youll find its much easier on the eye the last one. Everything is very much sharper and I find it much easier to navigate, especialy at the speed it does.

i think it looks great... much less phpbb'ish. i think i'm used to the dark colors as i frequent another board that uses similar dark colors. however i noticed that the font color used in the posts is not very bright, atleast compared to the other forum i go to a lot. it looks to be the same font, but they use a bright white.. which i think might help a little bit. maybe go there and check it out.. it's [url="http://www.detroitluv.com"]http://www.detroitluv.com[/url]

personally i dig the format and color scheme.. looks more original. doesn't hurt my eyes a bit. =)

*** edit: i've found issue with the new board and firefox... when clicking on the "go advanced" button in the quick reply field at the bottom of a thread and when editing a post... it gets all fucked up. the text edit box that appears extends past the containing table.

Hi guys - as always - I don't know HOW or WHEN you find so much time to do so much good work, but THANKS!

I have to say I was shocked at first but I'm sure I'll come to know and love it. As we all know, change is hard, and the multiple seconds we save by navigating more quickly will give us, in the long run, so much more time to lead productive lives!

Damn, I don't log on for a couple days and when I come back everything is WAY different. I like dark colors as a rule, but it will just take time to get used to the change. I like it, but damn is it different...not a bad thing...just hella different. This place is all about change and progression, so this doesn't surprise me one bit. Give it a week, the old forum will be long forgotten.:RockOn:

i love what you guys have done with the place! great job! the color scheme was spooky at first, but now that i have been browsing about i realize i can read and navigate alot faster with the new look. also, big ups to going back to using mercuryserver.com, i missed it...

did anyone else lose some private messages? i have my inbox and my sent items but not my savebox, oh well

I think it's kinda funny how you got rid of all the subnames for people to show how long they have been on the site. Now everyone seems to be a member or a senior member.

It looks like navigation is a lot easier. But my big floppy moment is when you changed the site domain back to MS instead of MN. Now I'm going to have to go back to the old problems with the Library that I had before. As they had your site under protection. And I don't know why...maybe the cursing and the naked titties. Who knows.

I'll have to talk to them and get that all sorted out. I need my MS/MN everywhere I go.

It's just like anything else...it takes time to get used to change. Concidering the extent of this change, I can see why some people are apprehensive.

I like it for the most part, although typing out posts is a little more of a pain than it used to be. It doesn't seem as straight forward as it used to...with all of the drop down boxes and such.

Thanks god a few of you guys seem to like the new look. Yesterday after we enabled the board again, the last messages I saw before I went to bed were all negative and it started to scare me.:o

Please try to give the new boad look a few days to get used to it...to be honest I was a bit shocked when I saw what Palmer had in mind but the template is growing on me since then. Besides this, this board is lightning fast now and you have one click access to the important forums and without all the layers and layers and sub-layers the site should be a lot more accessable now.

Next thing we will focus on is to bring the downloads back but this will take some time as we need to program and implement new scripts and tools so please bear with us.

I like it. The halloween colours are a bit odd, I agree. I probably would have stuck with blue (like the slick [mn] style) instead of orange highlights, but that's just my personal preference. The dark background is a million times easier on the eyes though, compared to staring at that lightbulb that was mercurynation. And the new forum layout is way better. Definetly a quirk I didn't like about the old forum was how long it took to get anywhere. On the heels of that, I also like the simplified forum jump scroll box. Looking forward to the rest of the changes.

Another skin would be cool. You could change it from the UserControlPanel. phpBB had this option. Does the vbulleting have it?

Some time ago we have used two different templates and people could choose which style they wanted (this was no php default option but actually an alternative template we installed) but it was a nightmare because every change we do on the board has to be implemented on every template and has to be tested with different browsers. I'll check out if using different styles is easier to manage on the vbulletin board but I can't promise that it will happen. :)

Mercurynation was the name for the Site when we had all the different Forums on here (Mercurypromote, Mercuryengine etc.) As these sections will be put in separate sites in near Future, there?s no need for a Mercurynation.com domain anymore so we returned to our initial name Mercuryserver again as this is the name that most people know and use anyway.
