The first thirty minutes of Disc 1 are my fav. Disc 2 is pretty good. But, the rest of Disc 1 I just didnt get into, it wasnt engaging enough.

So far I'd say my favorite Balance outing is Fortier's. Quantity AND quality. Of course Holden's is amazing, but I think he really does need another few years to come into his own. Phil K's really disappointed, especially after hearing his 'Therapy Sessions' mix first. Anthony Pappa's - why didn't he ever hit it huge? His mixing skills are flawless. I have a feeling it's due to his ferocious unibrow - but the man had a NuBreed, a Balance, and now seemingly has fallen off the face of the planet. What he needs to do is put out a Y4K, I think, to bring himself back up to par. Speaking of, anyone know who's following up Evil Nine on that front??

These compilations have been always a great choice!!!! DEsyn's balance is an accurate pror-housy-electro set!!! I recommend you the cd 2!!!! It's just amazing!!!

Haven't heard this yet but was a little disappointed with OS1. Thoguht it was only ok nothing really special.

Personally I thought it got a bit overhyped......it was good...but i have heard far better sets from desyn than what I heard on OS1....Also, desyn wasnt able to use some tracks he wanted and he had to keep revising the OS-1 comp with different tracks........Hopefully he will have a bit more freedom of choice of track selection with the balance release....

thought both CD's are fantastic although CD 2 is stadout for me. The highlight of CD 1 tho is Chelonis R. Jones - one & one. Classic from back in 2002 that everyone looked over. Props to desyn for editing it. didnt think this track could get any deeper and nastier! dropped it at a gig this friday and TOTALLY went off! :!:

I wouldnt say that Balance are necessarily raising the quality bar - all they are doing is giving some of the less well known dj's a chance to show us what they can do, and they've responded brilliantly. Pappa's Balance is my favourite, and Disc 1 of holden's is absolutely mindblowing. Fortier's is okay when I'm in the mood. Phil K's has its moments too (the mix into Sealers Cove being one of the best transitions I have ever heard).

I will buy this for definite. Never heard a Masiello Cd, apart from the symphonic cd he did for dj mag about 3 years ago, which was okay. If he is anything like Luke Fair (whose Kiss mix I digged) then I will enjoy!

I've met him twice in Poland, both times stoned, drunk and woozy as hell. Balance is still in my car though as well as OS by Luke Fair - probably the best house CD ever heard.

I wondered what happened to SOS as a group. They were really good for like 2 years the disappeared after their Balance.

008 is one of my fav balances, though can't say the same for 013 (I think that's the sos balance)
