The Balance series continues to evolve and always has the ability to deliver elements of surprise and intrigue, and Desyn Masiello's 'Balance 008' is no exception. A DJ, A+R and owner of several high quality labels, Desyn has steadily built his way to the upper echelons of the international circuit, and building on the foundations laid by his critically acclaimed 'Original Series' compilation for Bedrock, 'Balance 008' showcases Desyn Masiello at his very best.

i hope he steers away from that disco-prog-tech sound he championed on the bedrock cd. i mean, that was a fantastic cd. mixing is impeccable. just some of the tracks aren't exactly ass shaking. for me. either way this will get a good few listens from me. :D

Re: Desyn Masiello - Balance 008

This looks to be another top Balance release. Hopefully Desyn has put a bit more time into polishing this comp than he did with the (alleged) rush-job that was OS_0.1. It would be cool if it was a three disker like Fortier's was...but it seems we can't have everything. Even so I'm looking forward to this! :)

#469128Post 10 of 86

Looking forward to this bigtime, the Balance releases have all been quality, and Desyn should fit in just fine.

Sweet!!! A new Desyn mix is always a good thing. :RightOn:

Re: Desyn Masiello - Balance 008

I have no doubt that this will be better than Pappa's and Fortier's and those albums were hot.

Id have to agree....although alot of the trax that endeed up on the bedrock cd were not the trax he origally intended to use. he had some problems with being able to use some of the trax he wanted on the OS comp. He had to put the comp together several times with diff trax which would seem to be a bit frustrating...

hopefully he was able to use all the trax he wanted to on this comp.

Hell Yeah! This is a must have. So many good cds coming out this fall. Should be a good couple of months.

#469350Post 17 of 86

I dunno, Desyn just doesn't really do it for me, we shall see though.

I take that back. I loved this comp. :D Been listening to it all week.

Re: Desyn Masiello - Balance 008

Not bad, however, you can tell that the mix has been commercialized. Desyn sounds ten times better on other live sets, or even if you have seen him. He is amazing. But to be honest, this CD is another attempt to put mainstream tracks in a complilation and sell. Desyn is a stud.

Re: Desyn Masiello - Balance 008

I absolutely dig both his kiss mixes and emix he did in 2004, but this comp just doesn't do it for me. It flows nicely but there are few moments which keep my attention occupied. Too easy listening I guess :p

I agree with those saying he's abit overrated nowadays, Masiello has a long way to go before he's the king of the ring imo. I stick to Balance 007 :D

Re: Desyn Masiello - Balance 008
this CD is another attempt to put mainstream tracks in a complilation and sell.
Wow, I guess I'm really out of the "mainstream" loop. I'll give you that 'Halcyon' is a popular classic tune, but you consider it and the other tracks "mainstream"?
Is the Anthony Pappa Balance any good?
I really loved Pappa's balance, CD1 still gets played weekly in my house!!!

Not really been that into any of the previous stuff I've heard from Desyn - but just coming up to the end of CD1 now and i'm really enjoying it.

What is it about Balance mixes - each one seems to get better than the last. They've certainly raised the bar as far as quality goes.

Re: Desyn Masiello - Balance 008

Gotta get my paws on this CD...

I see on the tracklist a mention of Killing Joke?s "Love Like Blood". That?s one of my all time favourite tracks! Any opinions on this remix?

try amazon.co.uk. it will cost you a bit more (s/h) and it will take about a week for delivery. that is about a little over 2 weeks earlier than the us release.

Re: Desyn Masiello - Balance 008

cd1 and cd2 are great cd1 more on the chill prog side (it sound boring but trust me its not). cd2 is the real gem just a banging desyn set wow!

Re: Desyn Masiello - Balance 008

when I said that some of his tracks were "mainstream", what I meant was they are tracks that are being heavely played by many right now. I dont have anything against the compilation, simply that I know that Desyn has played much better.
