What kind of headphones do you use...
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
sony 7506's. 8)
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
mostly my Shure e3c's. i like the sound they deliver. the bass lacks a bit, but very clear with the more techy stuff. also very small for traveling around, which is always a plus.
Just picked up a pair of Shure e2c's that are wonderful. I'm sure the 3's are much better, but the 2's still pack a hell of a punch. Best purchase I've made since I got the iPod.
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
for mp3 player sennheiser px100's . for home sennheiser hd650's .. not the most expenseive but fuckinghell are they quality... if music be the food of love feed your soul and accend to sonic heaven
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
Some crappy 15 euro JVC headphones. Best ever...have had at least 6 pairs of those, and never gonna switch unless I get rich and can afford those Shure's.
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
i've just got myself a pair of sennheiser hd25 ... best pair of headphones i ever bought :D :D

Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
has anyone tried out any wireless headphones for mixing?
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
as i said in post above i got a pair of sennheiser dh650's prob best quality iv'e eva come across but the trouble is my creative jukebox just ain't got the juice to get the most out of them ( i am a lil deaf) has anyone heard of whether u can buy a mini battery amp to power them .the bigger speakers in em need more juice. btw anyone thinking of purchasing some phones for dj'ing should seriuosly consider a pair .. they don't look like ure usual style phones for using i know but god dayum are they crystal clear i think they have the highest frequenzy range u can get .. as low as 10 hz .. not many speakers get that low .. TRUE BASE
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
I won't use DJ headphones for just listening to music, I've noticed some of them change the sounds to make mixing easier but that means it sounds really different when you just listen to music. For example, my Sony v500's make a bassline sound rather...i cannot describe the sound, but it deffo ain't a deep bassline anymore. It is changed in such a way that it actually can be heard over the bass in your surroundings. The bass does tock instead of boom if you know what i mean.
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
the 650's arn't dj'ing headphones but i was just saying cos i recon they could b used as such .. what they are all about is true sound and they deliver better than any i have heard . the beat the hell out of listening to my system at home or any system iv'e heard .. obviously in a club the base goes through ure body and that would b impossible to re-create with phones but on everything else fuck me are they good
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
Dude, I totally believe you ;-)
I was actually referring to all those who actually ARE listening with DJ-headphones in this thread...anyone notice any difference in listening in here? I sure know I do when I plug my V500's into my stereo...
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...

somehow i doubt that
"The UE-10 Pro and other earpieces from Ultimate Ears reportedly provides a listening experience so clear professional musicians such as J. Lo. and Randy Travis swear by them. The UE-10 Pros are the top of the line, running $900 and providing a combination of technologies and design which are getting plenty of notice by the press and high end audiophiles. Ultimate Ears requires purchasers to first get ear impressions made, as each earpiece is custom designed to fit" http://gadgets.luxist.com/entry/1234000180028188/
i really dig those shure headphones tho.
For djing I use the sony 700's and then for listening to music I have another pair of cheap sony headphones. But they sound fanastic.

how do the ath-ad700 sound? i was thinking about picking up the ath-a900, but there is no place i can test them out.
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
AKG 271's. Perfect for producing.

The 700s sound awesome for their price. Very clear and smooth. To top it off they are incredibly comfortable. I can wear them for hours. The A900s would sound different since they're closed (the AD700s are open). I guess they would have more bass and a closed-in sound but I haven't tried them myself.
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
Technics dj1200s. love em. My fiance has the pioneer's, i prefer the technics for sound, but the pioneer for comfort. Will never own a sony product. When my techs break, if they ever do, i'm getting senns.
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
I have the Sony MDR-V700's. There is a difference when mixing and listenging on my Dell jukebox mp3 player. The difference is that my records sound fucking bad ass, super clear and heavy dope ass bass!
Mp3's sound great as well, no complaints here with these Sony's best purchase I've made this year in regards to dj/mixing/music. Comfortable too, grabs your entire ear and is almost air tight! lol.
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
I used to have Sony 700s until they fucking broke... I hate Sony products... Had em for 5 years tho... Now I have Pioneer HDJ 1000s:
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
5 years is pretty good for those 700's! i am on my second pair and the first ones didn't even make it to two years. but my 700's (about 2 years old) look brand new. those pioneers will be my next pair, i just convinced a buddy of mine to get them just for casual listening and hes all about them.
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
At home Sony MDR-V700. In my Ipod I still use the ones provided... they suck but are small...

i heard they sound like the sony mdr-cd3000 with an amp.

you are kidding me right ??? I have yet to try small headphones that beat the reproduction of the stock headphones that come with the iPod, I am DEVASTATINGLY in love with mine
-e-
^^^ Holy shit, -e-. I hadn't even opened the stock iPod headphones since I got them because I had heard they were terrible, but I tried them out the other day, and you're right. These things have surprisingly good low frequency reproduction, especially for their size.
:Bingo: for iPod stock phones!
EDIT: I've noticed that the bass response is much better when you rotate the phones so that the cord faces forward instead of down. Those little holes on the back of the buds apparently give them the oomph they need, and arranging them this way makes sure you get them in your ear.

yup, i listen to my ipod with these bad boys & have used them daily for about 4 years. awesome sound. the only pair of "serious" headphones i've ever owned. can't imagine any better sound...
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
Sennhesier HD280 Pro's.
Very nice cans. They're not top of the line, but definitely not bottom.
Circumaural is the only way to go. They sound great with a nice frequency response.

Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
Different types of headphones have different purposes. Closed headphones like the Sony MDR-V700s will give you a better kick for the bassline because of the air tight seal. Open headphones, headphones that have a permeable mesh, will offer better sound clarity, so for me it all depends on the music I'm listening to, which is mostly EDM. I have a pair of the Sony MDR-V700s and was wondering if anyone prefers the Sennheiser 280s over the Sony headphones.
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
Pioneer HDJ-1000's for mixing, Shure E2c for everything else...Just got the Shures and they rock! $68 on amazon!
Re: What kind of headphones do you use...
i think sennheiser are just producing the finnest speakers and pricing themselves way below ppl that are on par quality wise . to get equivilant of the hd650's u gotta pay 3 times more than the ?240 i paid for them .quality is paramount but money counts
