Without dance producers, DJs and bedroom DJs/producers there would be no Soundcloud. Imagine a random user paying 500 pounds just to post his or her "sounds".

Labels (indie and majors) attacking dj mixes, edits, samples -that ended SC, not their original rules. People like Howells, Seaman, Jody, Dummy magazine: they all bought pro accounts to post, among other things, their DJ mixes. For fuck's sake, They're DJs!! Mixes were a grey area, that's true. But you can't treat a dj set the same way you treat piracy!

I agree with you sbando. I was just kind of pointing out what you'd be up against if you were to "fight" sc.

There's no doubt they've exploited the grey areas and taken money from people on the back of that.

Didn't realise it was getting this bad!

I have had loads of mixes removed from my page over the years.

I think one of the big problems is rereleases from smaller labels, I got 3 mixes removed with Maceo and Maetrik tracks on them, I spoke to Maceo and he said 'It is fucking stupid, we make this music for people to hear, we want as many people to hear my tracks as possible, and if they really like it they may buy my stuff too."

It turns out it was all rereleased stuff and some small time label was putting those tracks up as copyrighted so the SC bots then flagged it, some year or so after initial release.

I think I am going to delete my account.

its normally labels which pull tracks and mixes from Soundcloud not artists, there have been instances where tracks posted by the artists themselves have been pulled as it's the label that owns the copyright. Might be an idea to list which labels will get your mixes pulled so people don't use their tracks. I'll start, Armada and all their spin off labels are notorious for having tracks pulled

Too many, dirtybird is another one. Plus they really get mad when a set includes promos and you repost it, as if the set wasn't there anyway in the first place, lol. They probably think that not allowing downloads can stop people from grabbing the track and release it on blogs and zippyshare.
