Just because Danny remixed this, it doesn't mean he has not committed copyright infringement. If he officially remixed it, he would have been paid for the work, he still can not give it away as a free download.

Saw on FB comments someone talking about mixcrate.com or something like that....not sure if it has the preview though.

SoundCloud is the popular choice at the moment, wouldnt be surprised if those record companies go after all of them after this. people will always find a way though, they may win the SC battle but wont win the war.

We used to pay 500 $ a year, remember? 28'000 followers, 1'300 files wiped away. And why did Jody or Dummy Magazine (among many others) get their accounts reinstated again?

Even before Sony's take-over SC would treat dj mixes, remixes and edits like REAL copyright infringement, arbitrarily closing accounts because some jerk had reported a mix (while breaking that same rule on his page). Just remove the offending "sound" and leave your CLIENTS be, for fuck's sake!

And let's not forget that a good part of the strikes used to come from indie labels and DJs.

doesn't quite have the luck factor in finding new people to promote your stuff to quite as well as the well known platform soundcloud.. i mean how many people out there have stumbled on stuff posted there and then also look at how many people out there that would stumble on sudbeat.com ( just a random example )

what soundcloud did well was introduce new people to new artists.

Because somebody else owned the track and it was downloaded. Soundcloud are making money off the back of artists and not paying them. Also I don't think that their software knows it's a radio show or that it was from 14 years ago. Not that it would make any difference.

How is posting sets that Dj's themselves want distributed... breaking the rules?? No copywrited material is being posted from what I understand. I'm confused on what soundcloud deems okay to be uploaded.. they are shite.
