Damn man, so sorry to hear that, especially with the recent efforts to move MS mixes up there. Pitfalls of these cloud services, always at their mercy. Are there other streaming/download options? I don't think Mixcloud allow downloads.

Hearthis.at sounds like it allows downloads AND can directly import music from Soundcloud. Ought to make the transition easy.

I have tons of space on the server, we also had MCast (RIP) which was able to stream tracks just like SC was doing, I can work at reviving that if people are interested.

Ok I got an alternative podcasting player installed, unfortunately the mixes are missing and so the player doesn't work. Does anyone on here a copy of the mixes, I'm happy to upload them.

Otherwise, I can give you FTP access to a mixes folder and we can upload mixes again and make posts.

The ones that MCast resident DJs used to post. The cunts who hacked / wiped out the entire MCast folder deleted all the mixes and I am kicking myself for the fact we don't have a backup. So if someone has downloaded the mixes, I can upload them.

If there is a copyright issue they don't remove them, they just make them unavailable for anyone else to download although you can still do 1 off downloads. And you still have them.

Funny, I had an issue with soundcloud recently , I have been with them almost from the beginning as well, I said sets weren't showing up on my dashboard. She didn't know what that was ?? When I signed up it was Dashboard-Downloads for free , it's now just Your Stream:(

Soundcloud was important because everybody was there -and no one uses HearThis. It's been great for the first few years, now it's unusable.

FileFactory, much like MediaFire, has traffic share. The people that download from you will have full speed and instant download.

But let's wait for Dom and Kamal to come up with an all different solution.

Another point is, people blame SC for making sites like ours redundant. Ok. But since there are still uploaders in P&R, at least search there first for a new file. Don't come here in GYY, asking for the file or even posting Yeah Radio or mixing.dj links!

Or the ones that posts, "I use torrents". Good for you.

Yes but there are various sites you can go to, to download. The fact that they pay royalties and are registered as a radio station means they don't fall into the Copyright issue.

Mixcloud will become the real winner out of this.

It still looks bad, plus you have to upload a track twice. Problem is, if you can't post a set with a preview, people will skip the link. That's why HearThis doesn't work and the same applies to file hosters that allow streaming.
