I'm most certain that they will end up releasing it as a dvd. Those guys know how to market themselves.

BTW, caught them on the Division Bell Tour in 94???93???? I can't remember for sure. But DAMN was it the best live show i've ever been to in my life. :D
1994, i was there as well........that was there last tour....

i also saw roger waters perform in 2000 or 2001....that was incredible as well... roger, unlike pink floyd in 1994, played some old clasics as well....set the controls for the hear of the sun, welcome to the machine..shine on you crazy diamond parts 1-4, to name a few.

Saw it at the old Tampa Stadium (the big sombrero), pig blimp and everything... I concur, best show I have ever seen bar none.

about 30 of us took a party bus from Pinellas Square Mall to the stadium, the bus was playing the Delicate Sound Of Thunder on the way over to the show. Couldnt have thought up a more perfect prologue to that event.

Re: Pink Floyd reuniting for that London Live 8 concert...

Pink Floyd are probably the most over rated group ever imo. Are Depeche Mode playing?

Funny, I was looking for them on the schedule yesterday. Nope, I don?t think they are playing.

I?ll be seeing them on February next year though, on their new tour 8)

Re: Pink Floyd reuniting for that London Live 8 concert...

Does anybody know what time Pink Floyd is going to play tommrow?

Id like to record it, thing is it is on from 12 noon to 8 pm.

#444957Post 47 of 94

Re: Pink Floyd reuniting for that London Live 8 concert...

who knows, the website has no line up times, and though MTV has it on noon-8pm, the concert time in England is 2pm-9:30pm (9am-4:30pm EST)

I thought I did see an advert tho for ppv on this last night, but wasnt paying that much attention, anyone else confirm this?

Re: Pink Floyd reuniting for that London Live 8 concert...

i wonder how long each artist will have to play, looking at the line up and the length of the event, doent seem like anyone will have much time for their performance.

Chis Evans said on the radio today that each artist is going to get a 15 minute slot. WTF are Pink Floyd gonna do in 15 fuckin minutes !

Re: Pink Floyd reuniting for that London Live 8 concert...

However long they are on I just cant wait to see the guys together. An interview I saw today with Nick Mason today at the concert was very encouraging, asked how the rehersals went he said "very civilised" asked what the chances of Floyd getting back togethe he answered "who knows" <<--- Ive just spoiled my trousers.

(rogers still an arrogant bastard tho!)

#445261Post 61 of 94

Re: Pink Floyd reuniting for that London Live 8 concert...

I know I should be greatfull seeing them together on stage for the first time in 24 years but Im gutted they didnt play Shine on you crazy diamond. Of all the acts to play so far though they have had the most time on stage, 25 mins I reckon.

I just hope with all my heart that that the guys put all their past troubles behind them and think about putting a few shows together for us unworthies.

:Respect:

Re: Pink Floyd reuniting for that London Live 8 concert...

for those who are unfortunate enough to be cut off by the corporate mtv/vh1 machine with commercials of the pink floyd performance it can be downloaded at the link below

i was watching a more annoying broadcast of the global feed where they kept switching between the different locations after every song :x

#445362Post 71 of 94

Thanks tiddles for those links. Them damn MTV bastards! No respect and go and cut off floyd to listen to their damn idiotic hosts and commercials no less. Thanks for the uninterrupted version. :D

#445363Post 72 of 94

Re: Pink Floyd reuniting for that London Live 8 concert...

It was completely uninterrupted on BBC1 :?

#445366Post 73 of 94

Re: Pink Floyd reuniting for that London Live 8 concert...

I've been thinking bout this for a while. There is no way that this issue (African debt relief and poverty) was enough to bring Roger and Dave together after all these years. They hate each other!!! Obviously I'm glad they came together for this effort, but to me, it is very clear this is just an excuse to get back together for one more giant $ making final tour. I think the rumours were correct. thoughts???

And yes, MTV is sooooooo retarded for interrupting the comfortably numb solo.

#445367Post 74 of 94

i'd like to think that everyone who played was there for the cause...obviously they weren't (paul saying he wouldn't play unless he could open and close the london show...lame!) $$$ runs the music biz and it makes me :(

floyd ended when waters left the group IMO

#445375Post 75 of 94

Re: Pink Floyd reuniting for that London Live 8 concert...

I'll probably catch hell for saying this, but having seen the footage, the performance was not as good as I had hoped. :|

Re: Pink Floyd reuniting for that London Live 8 concert...

What a fucking magical moment it was to see them play Confortably Numb with Waters and Gilmour doing their parts again!

I think I could?ve had a comet hit me in the head during that solo and I wouldn?t notice it...I totally forgot about the world during that Floyd performance actually.

I actually was lucky enough to hear Live8 entirely on our local radio, and saw most of it uninterrupted on TV too.

Some crap moments, but some awesome ones too : I mean, let?s put musical prejudice aside, but some great displays were put on by The Who, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, (glup) Will Smith, U2 and Green Day.

And Duran Duran too...I can?t explain why, but I love Save A Prayer.

And laugh at Paul McCartney, but Helter Skelter was awesome...just as good as U2?s cover of it.
