Nick Warren GU028
Re: Nick Warren GU028
I?ve heard to full tracks out of this CD.
Kosmas Epsilon's "Sorry to be rude" and BCML's "Horowitz". Both tracks are more than sublime... perfect stuff! Kosmas STBR is a hard hitting piece of music, kinda trancey, my kinda music.
BCML's "Horowitz" is mellow, floaty, dreamy, but with attitude and big punch. Is the best work I?ve heard from Ben and Mat... not to be missed.
If anyone wants to hear "horowitz" PM so I can send u Mat's mix for our Underexposure show... the track is in there and I have to say that the mix is reaaaaaally good too...
Re: Nick Warren GU028

I'm looking forward to it. Warren's GU's are usually good. I'm just glad we didn't get another Dave Seamen or Deep Dish.
WTF? You serious? IMO 025 toronto is one of the best GUs
Toronto was good but
Moscow disc 1 was better.. IMO
Moscow kicks ass too... I just love 025... i dont know why, but it always makes me feel so goooood...
the point was that the deep dish GU's were badass...
so WTF?
Re: Nick Warren GU028
thanks
Re: Nick Warren GU028
Just listened to it all the way through... and it's f*cking superb :D
Possibly one of my favourite GU mixes? Repeated listens will tell 8)
Excellent. Can't wait to get my ears on it!
Re: Nick Warren GU028
He's coming to DC (This will be my first time seeing good old Nick in some time) so that should be good :)
Re: Nick Warren GU028
yeah, I hope to listen to it soon. btw, I too think 27 was excellent
Re: Nick Warren GU028
can't wait for this one .His last one is the best one in my opinion
Re: Nick Warren GU028

I hope it's a good one. Last few releases from GU were crap.
I think Howells' Miami is amazing.
I did my first listen to DH GU and I wasn't too impressed, but now I think it's pretty damn good. I'm really enjoying those electro beats. It's so smooth.
WOW.WOW.WOW. (and that doesn't stand for way out west ;)
Amazing compilation.
CD1 intro track, SJ Esau - Fat Cat Track (Jody Wow Remix) is so damn beautiful it sets the mood perfectly for the set. Amazingly perfect intro track. The first CD seems to be lighter, building and building leaving you longing for more and more. It's melodic and soft, but it gets you ready and in the mood for CD2. A lot more energetic, a faster tempo. Some truly amazing tracks on both cds from some younger, not so popular producers (congrats to Josmas, Jacob Todd & Kelly Noland, Seyton). I love the sound he's given the compilation, and how he's a little astray from the typical proggy electro with sounds from so many different genres: ambient, breaks, techno, acid house (Acperience - Hardfloor on CD2).
Remarkable tracks:
SJ Esau - Fat Cat Track (jody wow remix) Jacob Todd & Kelly Noland - Somehow (Aural Imbalance Remix) Lustral - Solace (Gardner & Star Mix) - finishes off the first CD to perfection and sets up cd2 Morozov - Fly Guitar Pop Shuvit - Conversations (Shiloh Remix) Holden & Thompson - Come to me (amateur guitar mix) Mercurio - Simple things
i also liked it a lot. disc 1 for me was incredible. he really built the anticipation on there but i felt the beggining of disc 2 was a bit of a let down. just my $0.02 however i started loving disc 2 half way through. great release by gu again. seems they're on the right track with miami and now shanghai. as long as they keep lavelle the fuck off another mix i will be a happy camper.
as long as they keep lavelle the fuck off another mix i will be a happy camper.
True that :D
I was really looking forward to hearing this since i saw Nick here in April. . . and boy did he deliver the goods.
IMHO the best GU in a long while. :D
Re: Nick Warren GU028

I haven't been able to find a promo on Soulseek, so I still haven't heard it. Hopefully soon, Nick always comes through for me.

Warren never fails!
Re: Nick Warren GU028

It is mixed
Re: Nick Warren GU028
Been listening all week - great mix IMO.CD1 is so melodic, some excellent tunes on there (ie Jacob Todd, Alex stealthy,WOW,Yvel&Tristan)
CD2 is good too, another good release from GU
Re: Nick Warren GU028
both disks are beautiful ... as people have stated number one is a little slower. number two really hits the sweet. very very worth any money. really enjoyed the promo, this is going to be added to the asdf_admin libary.
Re: Nick Warren GU028
just got it yesterday and i must say im pretty impressed with disc 1 so far :D :D
Re: Nick Warren GU028
his best work since brazil. really great mix. nick proving he hasnt lost his touch here. still my second fav behind diggers. simply put, the man can throw it down anywhere. i was blessed to catch the 2 nighter in denver two years back where he played a downtempo set and a pounding nick warren set both nights. was something special.
Re: Nick Warren GU028
i listened to shanghai disc one this morning,
made me late as hell but i loved it and 24 is in my opinion timeless
and to those who remember 18 at the time it was a amazing ...
props to Nick Warren.
Re: Nick Warren GU028
:CandyPop:
I like d his last GU mix betere. This sset seems too trancy=ey foir me.
Re: Nick Warren GU028
I love it. I've loved all of Nick mixes about the same, but this one is head and shoulders above them all. Top 3 GUs IMO. :Bingo:
Re: Nick Warren GU028
finished cd 2 and i must say this album is ace
new ipod + this ... it doesnt get any better :D :D :D
Re: Nick Warren GU028
I hope this is not his last GU although it sounds like it is.
Also, this is a very international TL. producers from Russia, turkey, Grrece, Hungary, etc.
Re: Nick Warren GU028
i didnt perticuarly like this. very soft and fluffy. i havent listened to trance in years now, this sounds like its behind on the times. gu's at one point, were way ahead of there time. sasha and or digweeds would be prime examples.
whatever happend to the nubreed and 24/7 series? the past however many gu's have been nothing short of utter disapointments. i was always under the impression that gu was the forefront of innovation and musical quality. my opinion has radically changed from GU20-28. it would be nice to hear dj's who are constantly changing there sound to keep an innovative edge to there music.
i would love to see gu not take the obvious route for the next installment, and bring in someone new. as much as i'd love to hear another lavelle mix, it's time to move on.
