Re: NASA: Voyager I enters solar system's final frontier

the everyone knows thing was a joke kids. I have been in debates over it, and it is really intersting hearing and reading some of the proof either way. It is just like anything we have been discussing here, all you can do is draw your own conclusion, because unless you actually see it.. you can't really prove it.

Re: NASA: Voyager I enters solar system's final frontier
like I said in another post (not sure if it was on this version of MN/MS), I'm leaning towards the belief that God is probably a super human race of living beings that have been in existence for nearly the same age as the universe (give or take a billion years for the cooling period of the big bang).... that is still 9 billion years older than the earth, let alone how long there has been life on earth and moveover intelligent life on earth.... hence this race of living beings has acquired the knowledge to perform GOD LIKE abilities..... how ??

if in the last 30 years we could have accelerated our growth / knowledge / abilities thanks to the uncountable technological developments, imagine where we'd be in a 1000 years, 10,000 years, a million years.... moving mountains, creating clouds, changing atmospheres, creating lives, etc. etc. is just a wink of an eye at that stage...

additionally, since this race of humans has learnt everything from the technological aspect of things, they are fully aware of the psychological realities of humans and to avoid mass hysteria on earth - by not having ONE leader (GOD) when in reality GOD is this entire race of beings, they came up with the idea of having God appearing different to different cultures, but still one God.....

so if true, how does that really affect us all, in our beliefs, our religions, allah, jesus, vishnu...... are they the portrayal of another race of beings to keep chaos under control ?

^ I was wondering how long it would be before you entered the discussion Sunny. :) Thanks for that link. I actually came across that guy's book in the library catalog at school and found out that it had been lost. I submitted a request for them to restock it a couple of months ago but have yet to hear anything. I'll be going in tomorrow to follow up.

They simply didn't believe that the earth was really a sphere...
http://pw1.netcom.com/~rogermw/square_earth.html
omfg... this is absolutely rediculous...
"Can I believe in the round Earth and still get into heaven?"

No. As you know, if you do not accept every word in the bible as literally true, you are not really accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and are doomed to burn in Hell for all eternity. God won't let any half-assed believers into heaven.

"How come no airline pilots have ever reported seeing the edges of the Earth?"

Airline pilots are also in league with the devil. This is for your protection. If True Believers were allowed to pilot airliners, many planes would instantly become unmanned during the pre-Tribulation Rapture, thus crashing and killing everybody on board. When crossing the Equator or the Prime Meridian, airline pilots have to make sharp 90-degree turns to follow the square contours of the Earth. They hide this fact by blaming it on "turbulence."

"Couldn't the phrase 'four corners of the Earth' in Revelation 7:1 merely be a commonly-used metaphor for the farthest reaches of the Earth?"

Beware the slippery slope of interpreting a Biblical passage as "metaphor," for that way surely leads to Death. Next, you'll be saying the Earth wasn't created in six literal days, or that the Earth wasn't literally split in two in Genesis 10:25, and then your daughters will grow up to be temple prostitutes and your children will learn how to cast real spells by playing Dungeons & Dragons? and locusts will descend upon Israel and lions will lie down with lambs. They've already kicked God out of our schools because of such thinking. Don't let Satan convert even more souls away from the One True Way than he already has.

Got a problem with any of this? Are you an unbelieving heathen who believes the world has round edges or ? God help you ? might even be spherical? Then contact me at: rogermw@ix.netcom.com and I will pray for the redemption of your obviously misguided and hell-bound soul.
Seriously, I don't know whether this particular website is accurate, but I have heard of people that still believe that Earth is flat.

Re: NASA: Voyager I enters solar system's final frontier
although I sincerely doubt that Voyager will be the one to reveal it, am more intrigued to see what they find in the icey waters below Saturns cracked and frozen moon "TITAN" -e-
This what you're talking about?
Scientists are baffled by an unusual bright spot on Saturn's big moon, Titan. The Cassini spacecraft captured an image of the 300-mile (480-kilometer) blotch during a flyby of Titan earlier this year.

"At first glance, I thought the feature looked strange, almost out of place," Robert Brown, a member of the Cassini project, said Wednesday.

Scientists believe the spot might have formed recently as a result of an asteroid impact, landslide or volcanic eruption. Another Titan flyby in July could determine exactly what the spot is. Cassini has observed other patches on Titan's surface that usually disappear after a few hours.

The $3.3 billion Cassini mission, funded by NASA and the European and Italian space agencies, was launched in 1997 and took seven years to reach Saturn to explore the ringed planet and its moons. Scientists think Titan's atmosphere is similar to that of the early Earth and studying it could provide clues to how life began here. Cassini is managed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena.
Ahem...back on topic. :P

That is something that has always bothered the hell out of me. Every depiction Hollywood gives us of alien life is remotely humanoid...2 legs, 2 arms, a head, etc. Why would a creature from a different planet, created in a completely different environment, with different "ecological / climatary / planetary effects" as you said, resemble anything from Earth??

I hope they find something, I really do.

Re: NASA: Voyager I enters solar system's final frontier

sorry about the thread hi jack, lol.

you make a good point. That just goes along with the arrogance of thinking we are the only ones (human type creatures) in existence I guess.

#426940Post 65 of 105

Re: NASA: Voyager I enters solar system's final frontier
That just goes along with the arrogance of thinking we are the only ones (human type creatures) in existence I guess.
It also has to do party with Hollywood prior to the age of computer animation, special effects, etc. The only way to get an alien to appear on screen was to put an actor in a suit. Therefore, for ease of mobility, it had to have 2 legs, 2 arms, etc.

I guess that just goes to prove that even God (as a superior race of beings) has is own limitations...

no mate, you missed the gist of my post.... God made all things equal.... planetary conditions changed them over the course of evolution....

I read a very interesting article about how scientists were asked to hypothesize on why an alien would look how it would look and they drew some amazingly intriguing conclusions.... they mentioned that aliens would in fact look like the grey / large headed short beings that most abductee's refer to and there's a reason behind that....

Firstly, the enormous size of the head ... its been scientifically proven on earth that the larger the cranium, the more intelligent the person...... hence the huge headed aliens thanks to their advanced intelligent

Secondly, they had fairly small bodies and this could well be because of the Gravitational force of the planet they inherit. The larger a planet, the larger the gravitational force on it, hence if their planet was larger than earth, evolution would have shrunk their bodies to make it easier to move around...

There was a whole list of these which I dont remember off the top of my head but you get the picture.....
