after the farce that was episode 1+2, without question two of the most insultingly stupid films in movie history, you are going to bend over and let the pedophile-who-was-eaten-by-his-own-neck assrape you again?

these movies have NO STORY to follow, have no characters let alone character development, are totally inconsistent with their own logic and the logic of the following movies, have possibly the worst dialogue ever to make it to the big screen, turn decent actors into poor impersonations of rocks, and replace any human feeling whatsoever with computer-generated horseshit. this new "post hans solo" universe is a pretentious, antiseptic creation, totally devoid of charm, wit, levity, or a sense of its own absurdity, qualities that made the original star wars movies mad fun.

the new star wars are the best attempts to suck the life out of life that i have ever seen. hours and hours of shots devoid of meaning--nothing left but the unadulterated pain of watching the twisted fantasies of a megalomaniac who has lost all touch with art and reality.

the sad thing is that fanboys all over the world are turning out in the millions to applaud this massacre. are they even watching the movies? or are they so blinded by hype, the nostalgia, and their own childhood memories, that they can't see the fat fuck of an emperor has no clothes?

perhaps these movies are the exact sickness that current society deserves. americans chose a president that embodied the worst elements of their character, and now the plastic world of the early 21st-century embraces the Wax Man Lucas and his waxen creations as the second coming.

it's like watching a cool underground club scene--one that had warmth and filth and power and grit--descend into a slick, neon, commercial-whore-house, with Paul Wankenfold doing his jesus pose to pre-mixed sets, and nobody noticing the difference between then and now.

If the original Star Wars trilogy was Sean Cusick on the best night of his life, then the new Star Wars is Tiesto bent over the decks, getting assrammed by Oakenfold to the beat, while they watch the live feed on a TV monitor in the booth, cheering themselves on. And the crowd goes crazy.

actually it does have a story that does make sense....the dialogue was dry and the acting was piss poor though....and wtf at samuel having a purple lightsabre....retarded....anyway, instead of calling people stupid, please just prove the claims of a defunct storyline. I enjoyed the storyline however I think that it could have more potential and it was a total let down in terms of everything else EXCEPT the storyline.

Star Wars has a fantastic story line. Accepted that the acting was somewhat wooden in episodes 1 & 2, but 1 was not actually that bad a movie at all. the story has to start somewhere and it lays the foundations well.

Liam Neeson play Qui Gon Jin very well and the fight sequence at the end with Darth Mual is nothing short of simply breathtaking.

Episode 2 had no option but to tackle the subject of Anakin's change from a boys misconceptions of what life is like to the expereinces of a young man and how he taclkes the differenes between right and wrong. Plus the involvement of a love affair that also needed to be addressed in order to explain Luke and his sis. This did lead to what some have humerously described as "Dawson's Creek" in space!!

i could rant on for hours.....but, like I said - you just dont' get it.

i think this one will be the best yet. what amazes me is that people who claim to be true fans of the stories diss so much on the newer movies. what you have to understand is this is fictional history lessons, they are not meant to be compared to the earlier (although later) films. the pantom menace explains the beginnings of vader and the reorganization of the sith. the clone wars delve into the republics first attempt at defending themselves and the turn of events that lead to the rise of the sith. the revenge of the sith revolves around annakin's descent to the dark side and the fall of the republic. lucas has been quoted as saying there are tv series in the works that will reveal details leading from revenge of the sith to a new hope. all of these recent movies really have been made to further emphasize the events of the original three releases; they strengthen the plots, characters and scenery. that is the real reason why almost everyone claims the newer ones are shiate - because they were never meant to replace the originals, only to thicken their plots and reveal some star wars secrets.

This is just another scandel personally. I think the prequel should have never been made. I liked stars wars just the way it was. The prequels basically ruined it. The prequels(well at least the first two movies) were dull and never went anywhere. Now this movie is bascially Lucas's attempt to redeem himself. Which he failed miserably. Go on to making different movies and leave the classics alone.

As for all the bitcher...IT'S JUST A MOVIE. Quit whining and complaining like George Lucus owes you something!!!! I love every Star Wars, new ones included. If you don't that's fine, stay on the bandwagon who think it is so "cool" to bash these movies. George is gladly taking yours and 50 millions other peoples money. Not bad for such a horrible movie.

I think nr.3 was pretty good really liked the fighting scens especially the fight between obiwan and anakin! great stuff!

Revenge of the Sith is the best prequel, darkest of them all, and ties everything up quite well. Agreed the dialogue is lacking, but I blame Lucas for that not the actors. Check it out.

As for my opinion, I liked the movie. It could have been better of course, but I don't think it sucked. I think a lot of the scenes were cut short. I would imagine Lucas had 3 or so hours worth of footage, but he likes his regular feature length format. Most of these short scenes dropped the momentum of the movie, but again, it didn't make it a bad movie.

SPOILER ALERT

The beginning Battle of Coruscant was great, but when Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Palpatine were in the elevator, it slowed down. At the same time, I thought R2 brought a bit too much comedic relief to the table with his fight with the battle droids.

The duel with Count Dooku was too short. He whipped Anakin's and Obi's asses last time. I can buy the part about Anakin being more powerful this time, but I guess this one fell short in the editing room. Same thing for General Grievous. When he whipped out 4 lightsabers, I though it would be a good duel, but Obi trimmed him down a little too quickly.

The "Order 66" scenes were awesome, but I wish the preceding battle scenes would have been longer. Chewbacca and the other Wookies on Kashyyyk were not much more than a cameo.

Anakin's turn was a bit rushed, but again this was probably due to cut footage. I would have liked to see him attacking the Jedi Temple, not just march to it for a scene change.

I read about a lot of character who were supposed to have cameos, but were missing. Where was Tarkin? Where was Lord Tion? Mon Mothma, etc?

Why didn't we see a more detailed explaination of Qui-Gon Jinn's "immortality." And I just thought of this, if it were a technique that only Qui-Gon, Yoda, and Obi-Wan knew, how the hell does Anakin do it at the end of Jedi?

However, the most disappointing was the lack of Vader. I like how Anakin became Darth Vader before his defeat by Obi-Wan and I liked the scene of Vader's rebirth, but I wish the "mostly machine" Vader had more screen time.

Despite my criticism, I still liked the film. It wasn't perfect, but it is definitely worthly of being called "Star Wars."

I gather most of the people who are crying over it are in fact the biggest fanboys of all. They have their own ideas about how Star Wars should be and when things differ, they cry "this sucks" and talk about boycotts and other pointless shit in the belief that it will somehow force Lucas to give in to their mostly un-named demands. Perhaps, they're really not fans at all.

Lopark continues to shovel the horseshit. I don't have any idea how star wars should be, nor have i thought about the originals in years. I was not even excited when the new ones came out, but out of curiosity I went to see the first one in the theatre, and I almost barfed. 2 hours of a little prick driving his scooter around, and the rest a bunch of convoluted nonsense about trade embargoes. oooohhhh, now there's a potboiler for you. can't wait to see what happens next. as if this weren't enough, the whole mess is punctuated throughout by this fucking retarded JarJarBigs creature and his garbledghettospeak. Why do I have to be a "true fan" to recognize this as the biggest heap of shit to ever hit the big screen?

And what are these un-named demands bullshit? My only demand is that Lucas suck less. Short of that, I would at least hope, but not demand, that people call a spade a spade, and recognize these recent movies as an exercise in the production of mindless, spiritless garbage.

Or how about the fact that in the original Obi Wan says he hid Luke on Tatoouin at a remote edge of the galaxy to hide him from Vader? But in Clones, we have Vader going to the exact same house Luke supposedly gets hidden in!! Now there's a good place to hide someone.

The passage you quote is as bad as anything Lucas penned for the love scenes. What I have to understand is that these are "fictional history lessons"???!!! What the FUCK does that mean? What I have to understand is that these are MOVIES. These are not made to reveal some "fictional historical secrets" or "thicken the plots" of the originals. These are made as an expression of megalomania, and as a way to make boatloads of money. Which is fine.

Nobody is so stupid to think that these movies should replace the old one. What kind of nonsense put that in your head? The only thing people want is a movie that can stand on its own as something entertaining, stimulating, etc. And these movies fall on their ass HARD, in every conceivable way. I can't think of any movie which is such an unmitigated disaster on literally every front. At least Matrix 2+3 had the occasional something going for them, amidst the pretensious, probably coke-fueled nonsense, but these movies have FUCKING NOTHING GOING FOR THEM.

None of that means that the storyline is defunct, especially the latter part. That just means there's no consistency between old and new....The storyline is still the same and hasn't changed..

Annakin is the chosen jedi, Republic builds mass amounts of "storm-trooper" like armies, Palpatine is really the Sith Lord, Palpatine is controlling Republic, Jedi's are wary, with opposers or "Seperatists" out of the way, an empire can begin, Palpatine turns the republic into an empire and has control of the armies that were produced in Ep2, Palpatine convinces Annakin that he can save Padme with the powers of the Dark, Annakin goes bad, C3PO and R2D2 have their memory wiped out, Laya goes with the senator and Luke goes with Aunt n Uncle on Tatooine, Vader comes to be, Padme dies, Vader gets p'od, and the Death Star goes under construction.

i'm not a stars wars fan, nor does it take one to understand and recognize the storyline. I can agree that the full potential wasn't there and I would have liked to see more in terms of an engaging storyline. For the most part, the acting was poor, and the dialogue, as I've said before, was dry.

As for chewbacca, anyone who has a dog or any other obedient pet can understand the bond between man and animal...

and monk, if you're going to continually be an ass about this whole thing, I suggest you leave the boards for a while or we'll be happy to find a mod that can assist you with that process.
