Re: All the Trolls in the house raise your hands.
kamal, you're going about this in the wrong way. you should encourage everyone to voice their opinion regardless whether you agree with it or not. i think we're all mature enough to accept or reject someone's online posting

note i don't post much here anymore because someone kept deleting my posts. but after reading various threads lately, it sounds like other users are experiencing the same treatment. that's very unfortunate for a board of open minded people...
I expect responses like this from those not in the know. I am open minded, I'm open minded to the point that it wasn't me who did the initial banning but it was me who DID unban them, because I don't believe in booting people. But if inciting repeated negativity on the board to create an overall bad taste in EVERY discussion becomes a norm even after being told that if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it, yet expect a red carpet treatment, then I'm sorry, I have to become an asshole.

This is what has been happening even AFTER I told Bob I had NOTHING to do with his banning the first time around, but here we are again, bickering about it. I tried not to make a public mockery of it by PMing him but that was too much of a medium for him to continue.

Honestly, the forum isn't what it used to be, but then again, online forums don't hold the same charm. The Social Media landscape has changed and I don't expect MS to stay alive much longer. I have, much like everyone else, formed close friendships with a lot of people we have met on here. Some of them no longer have the time to come on here because of kids, jobs, changing tastes in music, age etc., others that do just want to share a few laughs and leave even though kids, job, changing tastes in music, etc. are in the picture. I for one am one of those. I don't want to come here to experience incessant negativity all the time, even if it means that freedom of thought is restricted.

I don't beg people to come here, but I do appreciate if those who do, keep a peaceful environment and not create unnecessary tension. If you don't like the rules, there are troll boards apenty on the WWW, take your pick.

This just isn't one of them.

I think it's a real shame all this has come to pass. MS was a revelation for me back in the day - all the quality tunage, the quality people, the drunken postings (after one too many scotch). I remember when my little girl was born 3 years back, I was touched by all the good will coming my way....

We did have the crack some time back, I mean all of us ;)

You shouldn't have deleted your post Feather, other than taking sides, you hit the nail on the head as far running a board / moderating goes.

Re: All the Trolls in the house raise your hands.

A lot of legalism up in hurr up in hurr ya'll gun make me lose my mind up in hurr up in hurr.

Truth is - most everyone here would probably have a great time together over a couple beers - so why not keep things chill. I think everyone knows what chill is right? I think married members aren't into hanging out with ppl with a lot of unchecked and/or misdirected aggression either. Which there seems to be pockets of every now and then. We are a very diverse group - there's going to be loads of miscommunication - that's normal. At the end of the day I like you all - even the members I've had pissing contest arguments with. Ultimately there is a section here for almost everyone. I'd say hangout in the section that suits your purpose for being here if you can't play nice with others in the other sections.
