yeah, that ian pooley track drops and it's like summer.

there's a few mood swings between tracks that caught me off guard the first time, but if you just listen to the grooves it all makes sense.

it's so good i forgive balance for not knowing how to release product

Howells must be the slowest DJ, took him one and a half discs to get anywhere interesting for me. Stark contrast with Digweed's Argentina that grabbed me from the opening track. Digweed's selection felt like a much tighter groove compared to the fluff on Balance.

Spot on.

But can we compare a studio album with a live recording ? Or does it even matter at this point... Digweed's live in series have been top notch.. I really can't tell that they were in fact recorded on the fly if it wasn't for the crowd noise

Well if anything Howells would've had more time and effort for the mix. It's just Howells' sound, tends to be lighter and fluffier, and for me, more forgettable.

It's hard to describe Digweed's Argentina besides tighter groove. There's this restrained energy in all the tracks waiting to cut loose, my kinda build up.

They sure are, and I realize this is just Howells' sound, nothing wrong with it, just doesn't work for me.

Eg. his GU: Miami, I found most of it fluffy easy listening until it crept up on me and the mix took off, just like this Balance mix. I suspect it's just his programming style.

Seeing a couple of comments pages back. What is the approach to comparing between a 55 Min. mix for a radio show and a cd compilation ?? I mean, a compilation is more elaborate and produced, creating a climax or atmosphere and blah blah blah The radio show is like a promo from his cd with greats tracks, nothing else.

I think both mixes are great. In this case I dont need compare because the most important thing here is the Danny´s sound. :D

Have "forced" myself to give it the 3rd listen, hoping it would grow on me but it didn't.
