But this was never meant to be a mix was it? Not even sequenced like Involver. Isn't this an artist album? I just re-read the first post and all the language used (album, LP) always indicated it was bunch of tracks.

Maybe if we're lucky he'll turn this into a mix for his Labyrinth show or for a guest mix on Transitions.

i think that is the oversight. knowing its an artist album and not a mix shouldve clued most people on what to expect. think of guy j last album. a list of tracks unmixed. i think there was a mixed version but missing some tracks. i never got the point of that though.

I missed on the clues that it isn't mixed I guess .. oh well, still the tracks are amazing so I am okay with it, but I am not sure if I would've bought it off beatport if I knew it wasn't mixed.

I definitely would have not bought the cd if i knew it wasn't mixed, i thought by buying the vinyl i would be getting the unmixed trax, and with the cd the mixed set

If I picture Henry Saiz I'd say a skinny nerd in front of a Mac experimenting on Ableton probably experimenting a little too much at times. This ostensible nerd, formerly involved in sound design on Spanish Television in his own right, mind you has a level and understanding of sound and the transcending nature to conceptualise music as an art form that is at a far superior from other so-called DJ's in our era. This vision of sound has derived a long awaited debut release for unmixed individually produced tracks compiling two years of sampling, editing, and producing.

The title well describes the intention behind this release being an almost lament of experiencing a ‘Dream.’ What you see is what you get, an exploration into Saiz’s methodology into the transfiguration of Electronica, best served at night in your sleep.

Progressing through this album, you expect nothing less from a nice progressive bass driven/80’s synth-originated tracks. Track 1 started creepy listening to it in the dark, however moving on in this package, every track deserved a “fucking brilliant release” title. I could just forecast how many DJ's will end up playing most of these tracks, with the additions of so many variants/layers to each track that is expected from Saiz. This would have been amazing if he released a mixed version, each track almost sounds like they can mix themselves (no pun intended). Almost as good as Sasha's efforts in Involver 3 for mixing purposes. However, I would comment that is a little more techy than your regular Saiz release, as opposed to having been used to releases from his other EP’s and of course his Balance release. Expect this to be fast-tracked to your nearest dance floor. A solid releases to say the least, and worth a few listens.

i havent bought it yet but have it on my phone because its on google play. if you have an android device, sign up for the 30 day free trial to the All Access package and you can listen to any song in the google play catalogue like spotify. Not sure if I will keep the service after the free trial, which I would have to purchase the album at that point.

I've been listening to it a lot in the past few days, and yes.. most of the tracks are amazing, and they will sound even better in a Fabric 64 type mix

The 4 min mark is just perfect for a DJ like Cattaneo to tear the roof off a place.

is it just me? ...just finished listening to both cd's, amazing album!! but bass is a bit too loud :S i have to lower it down on my stereo to listen it properly.

rich sounds and great atmosphere overall ! somehow it didn't captivate me @ first, if you get the same, don't let it fool you, it sounds better and better after every listen, i really enjoy it :) despite the bass, its a pretty decent work by Henry gotta say !.

^yah I would agree with that... I still think the majority of the tracks are incredible... but the mastering does seem off. The bass is turned down in my car while listening .

hmm. a bit dissapointed to hear that the bass is way to loud. how can he spend so much time on the tracks and get the mastering wrong....

cds sound great, just jonesing for the vinyls already, hope they arrive soon.

only disliked two tracks after first listen, first track on disk one and third on disk two. the rest of the tracks sound just amazing. the sound was perfect on the cds. not sure about the mastering thing that was floating around here :not me:

maybe on a car stereo it gets a little bass heavy, but on the home stereo with a nice sub sounds might fine. diggin this quite a bit, cant wait to test those vinyls once they arrive

Had a skim through the album on beatport, assuming the same album, a few ambient/downtempo/chill out tracks on it right?

A few saiz signature specials but not currently what I am looking to put into my new promo mix...will get some tracks and make a mind melter headphone mix...they are way more gun anyway

I finally got to put this on blast at an ad agency in Tampa. The sound engineer and I jammed out to a bunch of music and this cd was a big hit with the creative dept there. I have intentionally not overplayed this album so it still keeps its newness, but damn is it good. I feel like Saiz took risks with this one and the risks paid off. ***** stars

i think most people were expecting/hoping for a mixed album. I dont have any problems with it being individual tracks though. I personally prefer mixes since it now becomes too easy to skip a track where as a mix, I tend to change my mind on a track after a few listens.

I would hate to say it, this album wore out a bit faster then I was hoping, balance lasted considberably longer for me.

dont get me wrong there 6 or 7 tracks i really love that i still play but a handful of them were somewhat disposable
