I went and payed a visit to the Bedrock board and I must say YIKES! What a bunch of elitist crazy nut sacks. Happy this place isn't like that at all.
GU Board invasion .. most are ok .. a handful are unpleasant.

BTW .. this look to have crowd noise in parts, artists choice etc. Adds to the atmosphere if nothing else, and all John's sets are recorded with a mic. Assume part of the aim is to give a feeling of the night (this is a live set).

If its a choice of no noise no set ... I'll take these 5 x hrs every time.

Can not wait !!

With tracks like this:

It's only warming up the crowd, I think I'm really going to enjoy CD 1. Got such a nice drive to it.
Lol. What does the Boss think of them, Scott? He happy?
I'm pretty sure he has more important things to think about to be honest. Personally though it's like being back in the infants playground, albeit with a load of 30/40 year olds, who clearly have too much time on their hands who are slating a scene that obviously passed them by many moons ago yet they feel deriding others who are still involved and enjoying the music or going out makes them feel superior. Just a shame a few of them plague our board and put off genuinely positive users from posting comments. Rather sad really.

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

Scott, what day will the CDs get shipped?

I don't do anything other than rip CDs and like to have a physical copy, but know if I see the digital copy on beatport I will have to buy it on day of release if my CD hasn't arrived.

So will CD buyers get the release first or you think it will be digital first?

#1656372Post 99 of 426

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

Will be shipping all international orders outside of the EU a week before release then all EU orders go on the Thursday and the UK orders are shipped on the Saturday for the Monday morning release.

It really depends where you are to be honest as some international mail takes longer than others etc but if you are UK based I would expect it on the Monday morning

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

I really think they should be shipped on the Friday for delivery on Monday, some may get them Saturday, but most will be Monday.

#1656471Post 103 of 426

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

they all get bagged and franked on the Friday and picked up first thing on the Saturday, Bedrock 14 leaked over the weekend prior to release due to some deliveries getting there on the Saturday after one bag of post to the UK went on the Friday so understandably being more cautious this time around

#1656543Post 104 of 426

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

ordered the cd + tshirt combo and then listened to the cd 1&2 preview and didn't really like it. :NotMe: Not a big fan of the vocals.....

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

maybe they'll send you a tight tshirt to go with all them vocals

That's fairy snuff.

I think I am going to just grab the digital download on this from Beatport on the Monday then, dont own a CD player anymore anyway, so would just have the hassle of ripping 4 discs.

Looking at the track list that is only about 20% of 4 cds, and mainly disc 1. I wish there was more of that, sounds like the early Digweed from '93 and '94 to me.

speaking of ripping, what do u guys use to rip cds? whenever i try to rip them i always get a real quick pause or gap between the tracks.

is there a special way or program to rip them where it will sound like a continuous mix??

#1656675Post 109 of 426

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

do you have iTunes?

#1656681Post 110 of 426

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

I just use iTunes. Never gaps. This coming from a very much not a fan of Apple.

My fav program for years has been EAC, with the LAME codec.
www.exactaudiocopy.de I rip the tracks separately then use Soundforge to make them one big track... I'm sure there is an easier method by now though.

This said, I prefer FLAC to mp3s

#1656691Post 113 of 426

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

I use XLD on the Mac. Otherwise as Dusk said EAC + LAME is the scene standard. However it rips a single huge mp3 with cue file for continuous play.

chuckc what mp3 player are you using?

#1656707Post 114 of 426

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

If you want a ripped CD, surely the box set and proper non CDRs is better than buying the MP3 ?

You can also WAV or go apple lossless ?

#1656709Post 115 of 426

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

what do u mean by proper non cdrs??

I already bought the signed cd boxed set but like others on here like to have it digitally on the cpu to listen to on instead of a cd player. I am a bit illiterate when it comes to technical stuff.

just wanted to know the best way to get the music from the cds onto my cpu as a continuous mix thats all... usually when i extract trax with free ware i normally use i can hear a fraction of a second sound between the trax which is very annoying.

usually use winamp to play mp3

#1656714Post 116 of 426

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

ah ... though people were talking about ripping CDs from the MP3.

Winamp can rip files from the CDs to WAV or MP3.

Easy CD-DA Extractor, Roxio & I think itunes will rip all tracks as 1 MP3.

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

I also use XLD on my mac. Great program that also rips CDs to apple lossless which I personally prefer to FLAC because I can add covers to my ripped CDs.

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

i use foobar2000 for everything. Playing cd's, ripping to flac or mp3 in single tracks or as one file. Works really great too
