Ah that's good to hear. It was a really special night for John so once we'd got all 50 plus tracks licensed and cleared he really wanted to get it out as soon as we possibly could, so it was a really fresh live mix for those that couldn't make it to the Bedrock anniversary party as well as for those that were there. Obviously with Bedrock 14 just being released quite recently we really tried to price the 4xCD package as best we could knowing full well that quite a lot of people would have bought them both. Overall it's a great package that we're very happy with so keep an eye out for previews soon :D

These live CDs are such a great idea - would be nice to get on every 6 mths a la Transitions 1-4 (hint) ... gives a real representation of John rekordbox/SD card.

Think there was a lot of licensing .. Scott will prob be the best to explain - the hard work is appreciated mate ;)

I'd probably say some labels are harder to licence from others (the Germans can be elitist) but would also say John's credibility/reputation is excellent and that labels/artists probably appreciate the exposure they get on Transitions more.

Unless you are in it for the ££s .. not licensing your track (unless there is exclusivity wanted from a label like Cocoon) would seem a silly move if you want the exposure. In the case of Electric Rescue, they asked Bedrock to pick up their track for greater exposure and then played Bedrock 14 at Fire. Looks like some of the music e.g. the Phonogenic track follows this route, as it was released on Tenampa, but now gets a Bedrock vinyl release.

I went and payed a visit to the Bedrock board and I must say YIKES! What a bunch of elitist crazy nut sacks. Happy this place isn't like that at all.
