Re: Nick Warren Renaissance Master Series

I am sorry but Disk One is a freakin masterpiece. What a beautiful piece of music strung together. Like i said best chillout mix ever. Even tops Hernans Parallel Disk one.

I listened to it yesterday, and yes.. its amazing. Parallel sounds very different to my ears...it can actually make you dance/move here and there, where Nick's doesn't do that, at least not for me.

Re: Nick Warren Renaissance Master Series

^^^There both excellent. You are right, dont really want to get up and dance to this one but its great for just chilling out and letting your mind soak in the sounds.

Re: Nick Warren Renaissance Master Series

I was actually disappointed with disk 1. The first 20 minutes were good, but then it kind of limped off. Whereas lima was down tempo music, that was mixed and had a continuity, this cd 1 kind of fell into the trap of being a collection of ambient tracks played one after the other. With lima, even though it was downtempo, you could actually nod your head and move a bit to it. Cannot do that with this one.

I liked cd2, and it definitely picks up after track 7 as mentioned. The second to last track is epic.

I really like cd 2, its a set that has grown on me quite a bit
I'm still listening to this and enjoying it every time, despite the fact that disc 1 sounds like "Soundgarden", sounds cool as the same disc 2, very good tracks on it. I like as I said.
To me this is a Class A (not A+ however) compilation. CD1 is definitely a taste of Soundgarden's 1st hr, which to me is a really good thing. CD2 surprised me really how good it is...not that i doubted Nick, but i just didnt expect it to be as good as it is. I prefer this to his Balance 018 for SURE.

This is one is more.. diverse with CD1 being much slower. I really like Balance 018 ... maybe it came out in the right time in my life, but it made a pretty big impact and it will remain one of my favorite albums.

Re: Nick Warren Renaissance Master Series

I too like Balance 018, but i have to say that while i was listening to this today, I think I like this just slightly better then Balance....I dont know, its kinda hard to say....cd 2 has really grown on me. Balance CD1 was great and CD 2 wasnt bad either. but this mix is really doing it for me.

Re: Nick Warren Renaissance Master Series

I´ve listened to this CD lots of times now and i´m happy to say that I was completely wrong. This is a great CD I freakying love CD 1 there are such moments of beauty in it that leave you scratching your head thinking "where does this guy get these tracks?" CD 2 is also awesome straight up club music. It really captures what Warren is capable of doing in a club. It's not always bad to realize that you miss judged something or that you were flat down wrong about it specially when it turns out to be something you really enjoy.

I went to see Nick Warren on Saturday for the first time in a few years. I wasn't sure what to expect. He was still really good, unlike some other DJ's I could mention. ;-)

Re: Nick Warren Renaissance Master Series

^ he seems to be pretty consistent .. I've seen him play live only 3 times in past 4 years, and all the shows were very good! I was at that boat party, Warren and the whole TA crew were wicked, London parties don't get any better. Seeing Nick with just 250 people is special, gonna go to the one in september

Re: Nick Warren Renaissance Master Series

thought it was a great album, Disc 2 is still on of my current albums. The comments about the flow of the album were spot on. Warren's use of tempo throughout the years has been the best from GU24 to now.

Re: Nick Warren Renaissance Master Series

From track 7 onwards on CD2 is very very good, some brilliant beats.
