I personally think that at the rate this guy is putting out HIGH QUALITY records and remixes, and his remarkable DJ sets he plays around the world he is (at least in my book) set to be one of the next generations Sasha & Digweed.

#206536Post 2 of 59

porter is a real kool dude :Smiling:

#206538Post 3 of 59

Loving his rhythm, great basslines in his sets, however, Sasha or Digweed? hmmm, different league imo

#206539Post 4 of 59

I like Porter!

#206568Post 5 of 59

im gunna have to agree with beavis on this one...

porter has some good production work... and his djing isnt bad... but there is just something more in a sasha or digweed set that isnt there with porter.

#206576Post 6 of 59

Next party Parol in club A priori, Moscow, Russia.

25 Juny 2004 STEVE PORTER.

I think it will be wonderful!

#206582Post 7 of 59

i think he has good own productions, mixes amazing prog sets..... but i dont think we can compare him now with sasha or digg neither in a near future........... s&d are unique!! thats the only reason...

#206588Post 8 of 59

His productions are top notch. Haven't heard any liveset though so I can't judge. But like chemicalbeavis said, perhaps he plays in another league.

#206589Post 9 of 59

Steve porter rocks i think he might be as big as digweed in a couple of years.

#206597Post 10 of 59

Man to me Steve Porter is one of the best out there. I love his DJ sets, his mixing is superb, his productions are some of the best out there. In a couple of years he will be in a league of his own. I personally think he can get a legendery status if he keeps it up.

#206609Post 11 of 59

Definitely maybe.

I like his remixes and productions, didn't heard as much sets from him as from others, but I wouldn't compare him with them, at least not for what I've heard until now. As for what will happend in time? well... in this ever-changing scene, that's hard to say.

#206626Post 12 of 59

never disappoints...and always knows where he came from...

#206672Post 13 of 59

i dont know if it would be next gen dig or sasha but still ranks high @ the top of my list..

#206680Post 14 of 59

There is no next generation of Sasha & Digweed...they will always have their own unique style and classics that make them legendary. A dj like Steve Porter can one day acheive success like S&D, but his work kicks ass in its own right...not as a comparison.
never disappoints...and always knows where he came from...
:Bingo:

He is awesome, but I prefer to not compare him to S & D.

i agree with both of you on this.I think Porter is in a league all his own.

#206718Post 17 of 59

Different type of dj imo - you can't compare him to S&D. He fucking rocks it though.

#206746Post 18 of 59
Loving his rhythm, great basslines in his sets, however, Sasha or Digweed? hmmm, different league imo
Apparently you haven't heard one of his monster sets, but i can also understand and respect your opinion :Bingo:

Thank you.

I don't think you can compare him to S & D.
Loving his rhythm, great basslines in his sets, however, Sasha or Digweed? hmmm, different league imo
How is that possible since Steve Porter is better than Sasha? :D

#206808Post 24 of 59

as producer for sure, as DJ will have to see

#206821Post 25 of 59

he is the man!!! Dj Sets and producing

all of the Agent 001 stuff is amazing!

then there is Steve Porter - Beat's and Potatos - Quality track

#206854Post 26 of 59

Steve Porter

Definitely a master of the basslines and tribal as all hell!! Excellent mixing skills, tight productions, top notch all the way around...but....you have to remember, there is such a mystique behind Sasha and Diggers. They almost seem "godlike" when it comes to their craft. Steve Porter has the skills for sure, but not the mystique, imo...

Vodka Cranberries is a wicked tune. I rode for 10 hrs to see him and I asked him to put it on he said he would and he put it on next such a cool dude. Vodka Cranberries is OMG good.

Loving his rhythm, great basslines in his sets, however, Sasha or Digweed? hmmm, different league imo
How is that possible since Steve Porter is better than Sasha? :D
well that would still put steve porter in a different league then sasha, only i higher one  but i not bashing sasha anymore i gonna wait until i see him this summer with his involver tour. it seems like he might off refound the joy and magic of dj'ing again with his new gimmicks.

#206911Post 30 of 59

I partied with Steve the night he opened for Sasha at a big dj small club event, real nice guy, can't say I really remember his set though

#206916Post 31 of 59

if that wasn't such a ridiculous statement, i might have taken you seriously :FuckOff:

#206941Post 34 of 59

he's definetly got form ;)

#207016Post 35 of 59

he's a cool dj, but its unlikely anyone will get near the status of sasha and digweed again, they are as reveered as they are because they were the pioneers of the sound

#207023Post 36 of 59
Loving his rhythm, great basslines in his sets, however, Sasha or Digweed? hmmm, different league imo
agreed.

Who me, nooo :Honest:

#207243Post 38 of 59

To be the next digweed/sasha you have to be a pioneer of a new sound. All the top jocks are pioneers of their sounds who brought their type of music to the forefront... digweed/sasha brought prog to the global stage and they played their type of music in say... Twilo when it wasn't fashionable to do so. They did not invent progressive house, but they made it popular around the world...thats why they are untouchable.

none of the up and coming prog djs will get to digweed/sasha level.... there will be other new sounds and great djs that come with that.
