Re: Archives to be deleted...
^^^ Yeah, you probably have a more sensible attitude than some of us. We do take it too seriously. But we are what we are. :)
The disrespected etc remarks from me were more generic rather than specific, but from what I read superwave gave as good, or better , than he got
Actually if you had read my actual original post it was a lot meaner and I thought the better and edited it. But you just had to bring it back up, classy :)
Read what I wrote above. I tried to be nice, some of you read my original post before I decided why make it so personal :)
Tell you what, why don't you maintain and update it? Why don't you compile Resident show write ups and upload tagged MP3s while you're at it?
I'm sorry DD, this is where you just sound like you're arguing for the sake of it.
Why do I need Cloud Flipper if I've never thought enough of Soundcloud to visit before? Huh?
In the 21st century, I only have FOUR consistently open tabs in my browser. I access a lot of sites via RSS, I keep updated on Twitter. I subscribe to art blogs, industry news, technology news, manga, TV, music blogs, music download sites, AND NOW SOUNDCLOUD, so everything is easily perused in my Google Reader.
If you use RSS you'll understand how convenient it is. It's because you don't appreciate the convenience and you expect THE REST OF US TO USE THE WEB AND MS LIKE YOU DO, AND PROJECT YOUR OWN EXPECTATIONS ON TO US, that you find so many of the cool stuff on MS (and facebook for the matter) extraneous.
'Most' being Chunky and? Cos you know as well as everyone else I copy/paste/edit more than anyone else in the booby thread :)
The WYSWYG editor can be flaky but it's not entirely the fault of MS. This is what happens when you copy formated content from another site. This is what happens too if you tried to copy formated content from any source, into a word processor like Word. This is just WHAT HAPPENS.
I get around it pasting formated content into the MS editor, Select All, click Remove Format (second button from the top menu), and reformat the content using the MS editor.
   Answered like a true nerd  You have just proved another point of mine. You shouldn't have to do that all that !! We shouldn't even have to know what an WKSWYGn editor is, we are here for the music .
I'm not asking for anyone to give up their nerdy bits, I just don't want them shoved down my throat . The ability for individuals to turn them off, would be great. [like facebook  ] You use it the way you want, I use it the way I want, simple really. I'm really good at finding, recording, uploading, downloading music. That's the web I love. It's great that you get a kick out of all this stuff, I don't. That's what it is all about, we each take what we want.
The old "Well why don't you do it line" I don't do it because I don't want to ! I want to spend my time on the things that are important to me. Plus there are soo many people who could do it wonderfully. Perhaps you ?? :) But I do expect that if someone else claims they can do it, that it be done properly. I really forward to using the DJDB when it first started. Unfortunately there is nothing for me there.
Btw, it is not "nice" to write mean posts and then expect that taking them down makes it all better :D
Sorry but can't help this

Pot, kettle black ??? Although I prefer to call it debating ;)
One thing that has come from this discussion for me is that I really want MS to survive. I didn't think I did .It has made me look around and see just what is here and there is a lot that I don't utilise and would probably benefit from. It has been a very important part of my life at various times . I have made real friends here. I think we need to look at the big picture here, ask ourselves what we do want from MS and maybe help in getting that. But that is going to take a lot of listening from all of us.
