List the mixes that when you heard for the first time you were blown away. Would be nice to revisit some of these, and I know I am forgetting several. Feel free to quote others with a "+1" but lets try not to have too many repeats.

Paolo Mojo - Loops (I think that's the right name, anyone remember Paolo's old promo mix) Robert Miles - Dreamland Cass - Balance Promo 2001 Paul Oakenfold - Transport Paul Oakenfold - New York GU007 Paul Oakenfold - Havana Cuba Essential Mix Sasha - Airdrawndagger Deep Dish - Yoshiesque 2 John Digweed - LA GU019 John Digweed Essential Mix 1995 Sasha and Digweed - Northern Exposure

Re: Ground Breaking Mixes

Gab Olivier - No Nonsense John Digweed - Live @ Massive Germany 2001 Joris Voorn - Balance 014 Chris Fortier - Trance America James Holden - Balance 005 Riley Reinhold - Tour de Traum II Christopher Lawrence - Hook Recordings Adultnapper - Audiomatique vol 2 Guy J - Esperanza Paul van Dyk - Vorsprung Dyk Technik Sasha & Digweed - Communicate Wighnomy Brothers - Metawuffmischfelge Stephan Bodzin - Live @ Kiosk 2006 Chris Fortier - Kiss FM 2000 Smight - Failure is not an Option

I'm sure there's more, but off the top of my head, these are some of the mixes that have always stayed in rotation since the day I first heard them. Minus the Paul van Dyk discs of course, although I totally just put it on while writing this, but I remember playing the shit out of those when it came out. Seeing that guy live at the State Palace was such an experience; it kinda changed my life and definitely my entire outlook on electronic music. I was also on a shit ton of drugs... but still. Vorsprung came out like a week later....

Re: Ground Breaking Mixes

Jimmy Van M - Bedrock Disk 2 (I've never had a change to listen to Disk 1, however) Jonathan Lisle - Regime Change Jonathan Lisle - Live @ Gatecrasher Summer Sound System Matt Diamante - Dreamstates Hernan Cattaneo - 2001 Mix for John Digweed's KissFM show John Digweed - GU: Hong Kong Disk 1 (the best one-disk mix of the entire GU catalogue) John Digweed - GU: Sydney Disk 1 and 2 John Digweed - Bedrock Disk 1 and 2 Hernan Cattaneo - South America Disk 2 Anthony Pappa - Balance 006 Disk 1 Tiesto - Magik 6: Amsterdam (yes srs) Tom Middleton - Sound of the Cosmos: Harmony (Disk 3) ----> http://soundcloud.com/mcastradio/tom-middleton-cosmos-harmony

There are solid Fabric compilations, but I can't recall returning to them over and over again. Even Digweed's Fabric is only good on the first half.

I still haven't made up my mind about MMII. I think that because I still return to it trying to figure it out is indicative that it's ahead of its time even today. Hmmm

Some solid choices posted already, and I agree with just about every single one of them, (except for Oakenfold's Havana E-mix, which I just can't get into like his set from Shadow Lounge or others from that year).

@ Clint: i've read that in several places. just never had the opportunity to listen to it. i think cd 2 is amazing, jimmy's best release, but if everyone says it's not as good as cd 1, then I can imagine it is simply stellar.

a few other thoughts:

james zabiela has certainly been a groundbreaking dj, but has any of his cd's or mixes really stood out? the only one I can think of would be his most recent essential mix with all those samples from Moon.

as for Jonathan Lisle, did anyone listen to OS2? thoughts?

I personally love his Alive CD from renaissance. His Life CD is also ace, I still listen to it quite often nice, calm and trippy. His Mixmag cd Destination Future is also one of my favorite mixes of recent years. His 4.2 is ridiculous how good it is by the time you are listening to CD 3 you are jumping all over the place.

OS2 is an amazing CD every time I listen to it there is something new.

As my addition to this list: Tyrant Fabric 15 CD1 All of Michael Mayer´s Immer CDs 1 2 3 Sasha Involver I never understood why people loved this guy so much until I heard this CD it made me see just how talented he really is All of the Plastikman albums specially Artifaks and Closer

As live sets go the only one I can think about now is Sven Väth Live from Time Warp 2004 Two hours of some of the must amazing techno ever put together. There is a track at the 1hr mark that just twist your brain to the point that you lose all sense of reality and it only gets better from that point on.

I'd love to have those. Mos Sessions was a great series.

I've seen those Sessions cds on Discogs from time to time. The X-Mix ones are a lot more difficult to come by, though. I bought all of the ones that I didn't already have when I found out that the series was going to be discontinued. I wish that I had snagged up all of the X-Mix videos also.
