sad... ive always liked the chunky and obviously i troll around the P&R forum, not here as much as i would like but i used to get really pissed at the Politics forum bc of the constant hating on each other which is why i refuse to go in there anymore.

i agree with some of the other comments, if you are going to ban 1 person for insults, at least be consistent about it. just because some members dont receive complaints doesnt make it right or ignorable.

Also, let's not forget the people who've done far worse, for far longer and remain here without even being banned for a single day. Sad but true that some peoples' actions have become accepted over time to the point where people won't bother to make a fuss (complain).

For me, personally, that is the bit that doesn't weigh up. Whether or not Chunky deserved a ban is not the point so much as people are thinking "how did chunky get it but x has been doing so much worse for so long now"?

Bob, if there are people on here who have done far worse, please bring it to my attention. I dont spend much time in every forum because work has been insanely busy for me and with things only getting busier, I might be on here all but once every few months. So if there is something / someone that is upsetting you or any other board member because SOMEONE got out of line, I won't know of it UNTIL we receive complaints. So please do not think I am taking sides for one bit. I am not and CANNOT do it on the forum.

I appreciate you can't be in every forum Kamal, the site istoo big for that even if you were online permanently here.

I'm not accusing you of taking sides either, you're the boss here and like any other boss, you get to know what you see for yourself along with what gets fed back to you and act accordingly, I know that's how it goes.

It was only pretty recently you popped up in the politics forum and, correct me if i'm wrong, were surprised at a lot of the venom flying round in there. Myself, and maybe others (I don't know for sure), stopped and thought "shit this is tame compared to how it usually is"

When trick12 got a ban it told me that you'd not been following the politics forum closely as he got 3 or 4 months for his offence. That came as a shock to anyone who'd seen some of the many [I]personal[/I] attacks that had gone before from others. Yes, trick12's my friend so you may feel i'm a little biased there myself - fair enough.

What other friends of mine have been subjected to on here is probably best left in the past now, as digging up too much shit may cause problems elsewhere or put someone in an uncomfortable position so i'm not willing to start down that road. It's not gonna get us anywhere if i say, "right ok - here's all the complaints i now wish i'd made over the last few years" is it?

exactly my point... instead of banning specific people in the Politics forum, the whole forum got closed down for a while ruining it for the people who didnt "go down to their level" now i just steer clear.. not worth the time to bicker.

logically, I'm for letting bygones be bygones as kicking up dirt only makes you sneeze. it's the future I'm talking about so if you or anyone else on the forum is upset, please ensure you bring it to the attention of someone on the team. this way, we know what's going on.

I won't comment on the trick issue because your opinion / view is only based on what you have seen and not of what I know.

I for one don't believe never hold grudges or for making a mountain of an ant-hill so I still have nothing against trick (I do mean it trick). In the same vein, I have nothing against chunky either (or for anyone else who might get a temp ban). Heck RMs got a few temp bans before and we get on ok (unless he hates me so I won't comment on that).

but from me, its all ok, I do understand people get caught up in the heat of an argument and are a bit more forthcoming than they would have preferred to be, and they realize it when the mood has settled, but its the regularity of which sets off alarms for us as a team.

like I said, I have nothing against chunky, never have, never will, which is why I lifted it because I can appreciate a lot of people being upset with it and hopefully things can settle down a little more hereafter.

As huggie says, perhaps a Zero-Tolerance policy may just be the way ahead (for better or for worse).
