I keep my phones for years, upgraded from the Iphone 3GS to the 5. Definitely don't see a need to get the 5S, but for the first time in a long time, if I were getting a new phone today, it wouldn't be an apple.

Laptops on the other hand...was hoping there would be new info today on the MBP/Air with Haswell chips. Looks like that's coming October. I'm due for an upgrade, have had my current MBP since '06...what a beast! it has served me well.

Well since I am quite happy with my iPhone 5, I will give the 5S a skip.... however I am loving iOS7 (iTunes Radio), so Samsung can keep their S4.... iOS is still butter and I love it. Interested to see what Kitty Kat has to offer though.... final thoughts.... I really really love the colors/case combos for the 5C... aaaaah if only I were a teenager.....

Did you snag the Gold release? I installed it on my old iPhone 4 and it's running pretty good, definitely an improvement in performance over Beta 6. I don't know if you'll sense the snappiness on the better hardware of the 5 but it was rather visible on the 4.

I'm really disappointed with how Apple is marketing this.

How can they justify selling the 5c at the same launch price as the 5, and it's made of plastic? And the 5s is $100 more, for a fingerprint scanner and a supposedly better camera? WTF. It's a big enough turn off for me that I feel they've lost the vision and are going for market share and money.

If the iPhone 6 does not impress I'll jump to Android when the lifecycle for my 5 ends.

Seems Apple has tweaked iOS7 to play well with the A7, don't know if it's a higher clock-cycle on the CPU (that 64 bit surely aint giving the massive performance boost with the same 1gb ram) but it does seem to perform notably better than the iPhone 5.

You know Ray, I wondered if RAM had anything to do with the performance boost (in addition to the higher CPU cycle) and that review pointed it out. iPhone 5S is using 1GB LPDDR3 (vs DDR2)

Can someone explain to me why people are so excited over the 5S? The way I see it, and correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we already spend way too much time on our current phones? I understand people have different needs and demands for their phones but personally I'm looking for ways to decrease my usage with phones and computers not the other way around. Having said that, if you want it for work reasons, then I get that :lol:.

Sure but will it be like that every time they release a new phone? I love apple products as next as the next guy, I have 7 or so :lol:. I just don't see the big deal about having the newest when the prior model is still plenty robust.

I only have an iPad 2 (which I'm still rocking), a couple of iPods (the original white monochrome screen and the color 160 GB iPod) and my recent acquisition of the latest iPod Touch which I sold in anticipation of buying an iPhone.

Plus with Bbm due out on iOS and android any day now, it's a matter of time until they've entirely sealed their fate as a hardware company and are left behind furthering the future of Bbm.
