[COLOR=#000000][FONT=arial black]Looking back, the meeting of minds during a chance encounter of Igor[/FONT][/COLOR] [COLOR=#000000][FONT=lucida grande][FONT=arial black]Tchkotoua (Pig) and Dan Duncan on a flight to Spain in 1999, sounds[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]like the opening scene of a Hollywood movie, certainly neither musician[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]could have the written the script of what happened next. Recognizing a[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]mutual philosophy, and using their own musical background that dated[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]back to the start of the dance scene, they combined to create a slick[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]production outfit that would entrance clubbers and soon win compilation[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]support from the likes of [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=261"]Sander Kleinenberg[/URL], [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=113"]Felix Da Housecat[/URL], John[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]Digweed and [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=182"]Nic Fanciulli[/URL]. Most significantly though, their tech tour de[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]force ʻOh Yeahʼ (2005) signaled the start of their ongoing relationship[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]with Cocoon Recordings, which has seen their status as DJs and[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]producers soar on a global level.[/FONT]
[FONT=arial black]From humble beginnings in late 80s, playing the tea boy and exploring[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]the workings of a recording studio, both Igorʼs & Danʼs experiences stem[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]from an era of primitive technology and old fashioned production[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]techniques. Danʼs own history saw him as part of the hugely successful[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]drum ʻnʼ bass act ʻIntenseʼ, during which time he also played alongside[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]luminaries such as [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=965"]LTJ Bukem[/URL] and Fabio & [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1730"]Grooverider[/URL]. When Pig&Dan[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]decided to join forces, they began a truly prolific production schedule –[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]with 18 releases in just over year – establishing their reputation as[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]producers of pulsating electronic music that straddled dark house and[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]high energy techno whilst creating their signature of twisted and[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]experimental breakdowns. These releases on their label Submission[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]would prove to be merely a stepping stone though.[/FONT]
[FONT=arial black]In 2005, they commenced Sonic Society and focused more toward the[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]edgy minimal that would attract Cocoon Recordings, as well as all the[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]leading jocks such as Sven Vath, [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=681"]Loco Dice[/URL] and [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=689"]Tiefschwarz[/URL]. As[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]testament to their continued master production skills, the[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]disturbingly dark ʻOh Yeahʼ has been followed by 8 more releases on the[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]seminal Frankfurt imprint, including their own artist album, ʻImagineʼ.[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]During this time, their profile as in-demand remixers has reached the[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]point where such electronic pioneers as [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=501"]Underworld[/URL] were coming back[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]for more![/FONT]
[FONT=arial black]Stand still too long and youʼll be knocked down, so the latest twist in the[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]Pig&Dan story sees Igor (aka Pig) coming back to the wheels of steel[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]and joining Dan after a long break in rehab. The Duo are stronger than[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]ever and have recently brought their new label "Balushi" to the Techno[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]stage. Pig&Dan are currently involved with collaborations with techno[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]masters such as Johannes Heil, [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1681"]Eric Sneo[/URL], [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=359"]Paul Woolford[/URL], [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=569"]Italoboyz[/URL],[/FONT] [FONT=arial black]Mihalis Safras and [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1451"]Butch[/URL] to mention a few.
