well im thinkin about goin to Liquid in Dallas on the 26th, Sasha is playin there and its easier for me to go there cause its on a weekend. Anyone ever been to Liquid? hard to get to? how much to get in?

I'm going!!

The hardcore, chinscratcher crowd may be split with that Kaskade show at compound. :Naughty:

I am interested to hear the layered sounds/textures that Sasha said he can create with his new equipment. I like the layered thing so I am looking foward to hearing some trippy headfucking sounds!

I might be the only one, but I would even be happy if he plays a little less "bang it out" in favor of a more muiscal night.

dude, there's no way you'll be the only one. compound is cool and nice, but no club will ever bring a bigger crowd than a crowd for sasha. sasha will dominate any other venue in atlanta. even on a wednesday...... i just wish steve porter was opening up for him again

I was told by a good friend that Sasha stoped playing at 2:45. Sasha has played many other times in ATL way beyond 5am. So, needless to say, there was huge, long series of BOOOs from the crowd.

Sasha apparently played several tracks off of Involver and many oother tracks (5 or 6) were easily recognizable from recent Digweed Kiss 100 shows. Sasha also dropped several tracks that he played during the 1st hour of Beirut.

He said the place was packed with ladies dressed for hot weather. But, overall, he said he was very dissappointed. Especially considering the trip to see him took 2 hours each way...

thats atlanta for you... he has to stop playing now at 2:45 if the place has alcohol served there. thats why when digweed came in march, he played at Blu because they don't serve alcohol and he went til 5am. they had a side bar next to the club that had digweed's music playing through speakers...

one of the many fucking gay rules atlanta has passed because of monkeys in buckhead... sucks for your frined and sucks for sasha too, i'm sure. i bet the music was top notch though.

damn i've been let down last time sasha played at 1150, the ATL is not what it used to be

I thought Sasha was pretty good last night. Played more of a banger than usual. He did play the new orbital track, which was fucking awesome. The only thing I didn't like was it seemed he did a lot of effects mixing instead keeping the beat going. Overall I thought it was cool. At least he did not play cowpander or Seven Nation Freeland.

damnit i hate that i had to miss that show, i wish i had the money to roll out to Dallas this weekend at catch Sasha at Liquid, im saving up though to catch him on the next time, but at the same time it would take me 6 hrs to drive there and another 6 back home :MadNow:

#209743Post 16 of 20

i would kill to hear that orbital track in a club

no shit man

That was a good night, but I thought that the close time was 3am so I was completly suprised when the house lights came up at 2:45. Somebody needs to do something about this close time bullsh*t. Some people had too much fun and the bouncers gave them the VIP treatment on their way out :Naughty: Ian James was a good opener too.

best set I've heard from Sasha in a while. It was funny though. If you asked someone who didn't like that came from a trance/progressive background, all you heard was BORING!

If you asked someone from breaks/other, you heard "standard prog bullshit"

I ate it up with a spoon, and I've heard some really lackluster sets from Sasha sometimes (which would be considered killer if heard from other djs)

good job, sasha!

no shit. it all went downhill in the last year too. not because of clubbers and drugs, but because ignornat kids like to shoot each other over ignornat bullshit. a few sour grapes ruin it for the rest of the city.
