Re: dj hell and wiggle roll call!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is the review I posted on a few other boards....
I had a decent time last night... The music was ok but I've definitely heard better. The Wiggle Room was a fun room but they have to do something about the sound. It seemed like they brought in extra sound for the event but only a small portion of the room got truly good sound. Musically it was ok but there were plently of lulls. There would be 2 or 3 quality tracks in a row followed by 2 or 3 blah tracks that made me want to leave the room. I think they would benefit by spinning in a smaller club as opposed to a big club with people running back & forth between rooms. They definitely showed enough that I would go see them again...
The third room was pretty much a waste and largely ignored. I didn't see more than a handfull of people in there at one time...
As for the main floor, everything up to Hell more or less did nothing for me. The guy right before him was decent leading up to Hell but I wasn't into anything before that. As for Hell, I thought he was pretty good. The Wiggle Room was more my style, but I thought Hell was more consistant. Once he came on, I spent the majority of my time there. I closed it out which is the first time in a while.
Thanks to Made for taking a chance and throwing a party like this. Between the Slags party and this, it shows that they are trying to bring something different and fresh into this city. The weather killed any chance this had of being semi filled. I don't think it would have been packed anyway given that none of these guys are household names in the US, but the weather definitely impacted the numbers and therefore the vibe imo...
thanks for the review. too bad about the weather and the sound. Last time I'd seen the Wiggle boys they tore the shit up on the boat :) Maybe they'll get around here again a bit sooner and in better weather...one could hope...
