the true blue warrior, brett favre, seems to be pondering his retirement.. :( :( ...sad sad sad. the NFL is losing the classiest guy they have in the league if he puts the cleats in the locker for the last time  . a legend who is the only player ever to win the MVP 3 times, he consistently played his best during the worst times of his life..... this really stinks. i could only hope that the pack go out and tool up for next season so favre will come back and go out at the top....

stay brett!~ the league needs you more than ever. :|

if not, i'll be in canton for the induction.

anyone that throws 4 interceptions and makes countless other bonehead mistakes needs to at least CONSIDER retirement. not saying he needs to retire because he obviously has shown this season he can still be a badass, but he even had me questioning him yesterday. sure, everyone has a bad day, but he didn't look like brett favre.

#337531Post 3 of 33

3 of them were the recievers completely running out of thier routes.... they would break in, he would throw where he should have and they would break away form the the ball.....

either way, he still is my favorite sports player since mattingly. toughest NFL player i have ever watched. class act 100% IMO. shaved his head again for his wife.

Re: will the saddest day in NFL history happen soon?

As a Vikings fan, I was happy to see favre play like crap yesterday. I respect the guy, but I think his retirement is nearing. I'm so sick of the media always on his nuts like he is the only player in the history of sports to play injured/with family problems/etc. Bottom line, he's has a hell of a run but his time has come.

Re: will the saddest day in NFL history happen soon?

don't like him, never liked him, can't wait for him to retire. he is way to inconsistent to be considered the greatest. and i am tired of that collective ass kissing, especially madden. have you noticed if somebody else throwing an interception that QB is a dumb ass, if it is favre it is a receivers fault, offensive line fault, coaches fault, but he is the greatest. Stop that crazy infatuation with this hick! Yesterday one of the best moments of this year, watching GB lose. Please Favre, do us all the favor and retire already!

ez, i see you are from maryland, whats your views on the idiot ray lewis. he is classless, self promoting putz IMO. he isnt even the best player on thier defense, ed reed is. he is a murderer to boot.

good try, but i am a buffalo bills fan, don't get angry man! you did not expect everybody to agree with you here, did you? btw, ray lewis has more game then farve ever going to have! and i don't see anything wrong with the self promotion, I say entertain me, if I am looking for a role model, football would be the last place on earth for me to find one.

Re: will the saddest day in NFL history happen soon?

ps. Moss' celebration was hilarious! People need to lighten up and not take it so seriously. T.O. has been much worse this season imho.

#337543Post 9 of 33

i laughed at moss. but TO doesnt really go after fans, he is a wiseass. another person who is good for a luah is pennington. on the rare occasion he does something special, he usually has a celebratory dance or sumin.

#337545Post 10 of 33

haha, ray lewis is a baby. i was happy to see TO call him out , even if he was only kidding. ray lewis started crying his eyes out and had to have an apology. favre isn't in his glory days anymore, but at least he ain't a baby. i think ray lewis would stop playing if he broke a nail.

#337548Post 11 of 33

Favre is an old piece of shit. He is the sole reason why I hate GBP. He's an old man. Old men don't deserve to play in the NFL.

And that whole 'Farve' deal pisses me off.
and i am tired of that collective ass kissing, especially madden.
i agree with you 110%. if brett would allow it, madden would give him head everyday of his life. never heard an announcer jack someone off so much verbally. favre favre favre, thats all madden talks about. he even reverts to favre during other games. total knob imo. yeah yeah, i respect favre and all, but he's no where near the caliber of player this year that he has been in the past. he doesnt have the experienced team backing him up any more either. bunch of young guys in it for themselves it seems.

bottom line: i wont lose sleep if he retires.

Re: will the saddest day in NFL history happen soon?

Read my lips the man will NOT retire. Trust me guys. Many emotions are running when you perform like, a man of his stature and greatness.

Now if they lost and he played well then yes he will retire but not after something like that.

#337571Post 14 of 33

If you're a fan of the game of football, I think you have to love -- or at least love to hate -- Favre. He has off days, for sure, but if my team were down, he's the guy I would want heading the charge. Total gamer.

one more year and peyton manning will have 3 mvps
ps. Moss' celebration was hilarious! People need to lighten up and not take it so seriously. T.O. has been much worse this season imho.
One key difference: the only one's who complain about TO are the other guys. Moss on the other hand disrupts his own team.

As for Farvre, I admire him as much as the next guy, but part of being the classy champion that he is, is knowing when it is time to hang 'em up. Something Gretzky did incredibly well, and Jordan did incredibly poorly.

Brett did not play a good game yesterday, and considering how many injuries he's had over his career, I can't really see him getting as good a shot at it next year, or beyond.

#337594Post 17 of 33

I agree with LV, Favre will not retire. Brett is arguably one of the greatest competitors the game has ever seen and is definitely one of a dying breed of loyalty and sportsmanship. Even though I'm not a Packers fan I still tune into to all of their broadcast games because I know I'm (usually) going to see a pretty good performance.

As for yesterday's game: it was a collective loss for the entire team. Favre made a couple bonehead mistakes (who doesn't), receivers did run the wrong routes, and the defense played like shit.

Ray Lewis: not the best player on defense this year, but definitely the most consistent. As for whether he was a baby after being called out: I would've said something about it too if someone that I had befriended and trusted did something like that to me.

#337597Post 18 of 33

im glad that the curse of madden vid game followed to ray lewis.

#337798Post 19 of 33

2 of those picks were pop-ups anyway.

As for the tossing the ball past the line thing...well, that's Favre. Gunslinger does not mean he always hits the mark. I just don't understand how anyone could say that they out and out HATE Brett Favre. He seems like a genuine, down to earth kind of guy..like he doesn't really belong in the league expect for the fact that he's really, really good. I'm nowhere near a Packer fan, but I can easily say he is one of my favorite players ever.

He may be slipping, but when he is on, he is on. And there have been few better.

#337942Post 20 of 33

Say what you will about Favre, but the guy unites a whole fucking state. I'm sure you would have miles of people lining up to take a bullet for the guy if asked - and why? He performs, he never complains, and he gives back to the community. Would someone take a bullet for Ray Lewis? Ha.

The Packers are the only team in the NFL owned by the community, and I have to say, that most of players realize that and act accordingly, especially Brett (exception - Mackenzie) You want to talk about class? I went to a practice session this year, and the players ride the bikes of local kids, letting them either ride on the pegs or run along side carrying their helmets, and they answer questions and take pictures. That is class. In Green Bay it's not about the show, but how well you play the game, and everyone in Wisconsin, and especially Madden outside of Wisconsin, knows that. Have you heard Farve say anything except the facts about how shitty his life is right now? No, he knows he didn't play well, and now he has to figure out how best to serve his family. Imagine that, family first, football second.

He knows he's had a good run, he knows he's old. But I wouldn't be surprised if he played one more year.

But don't bash the guy for not being Payton right now. Do you think Payton could destroy the Raiders the way Brett did the freakin' day after his Dad died?

The game hasn't been the same since this guy left:

Brett is a great quarterback, one of the best ever. His performance against Minnesota was questionable to be sure, but everyone has their bad days.

Peyton Manning is awesome to watch, if Indy can tighten up their defense the team will be unstoppable.

#338400Post 23 of 33

Mike H is in the house! Keep up the great work Mike! Coming to play in Boston anytime soon?

#338412Post 24 of 33

Re: will the saddest day in NFL history happen soon?

 1. Thanks, I'll do my best...

Nothing planned for Boston at the moment, but I'm working on tour dates for the first half of the year now so hopefully something will come up...

Are you a Patriots fan? Should be a great offensive battle on Sunday!

you mean Go Colts dont ya skatty ?

#338418Post 27 of 33

No, I think I got it right the first time. I will never in a billion years be able to cheer for the Colts. It doesn't matter who their coaches, players, or cheerleaders are. As long as they have the same owner they can all rot in the 9th rung of hell.

#338420Post 28 of 33

who cares. Go Colts!

Cheers Evangelion. And Mike - I am a Pack fan first, Pats fan second since I live in Beantown.

It would be great to see you out here - and bring Mr. Bazell! with you! I used to see Kevin all the time playing or at what was then Global Grooves when I lived in Venice but I moved out here two years ago and miss my beach desperately

Cheers again, Alex
