I used to play centre half and was always told if your full-back leaves a hole uncovered then you have to fill it. Think mr Terry just read it wrong maybe?

Re: John Terry dropped as England captain

good decision for me, shows Capello doesnt care who you are, if you fuck up you're dealt with... he's shown this since he took over.. not sure about Rio as captain though, but I guess going by the prem season he is the most deserving as Gerrard and Lampard havent really impressed that much.. not sure who else would be deserving of the arm band

Re: John Terry dropped as England captain

I don't really see how anything that he does in his private life should affect his position in the team unless it actually affects his performance at carrying out that position. At the end of the day football is just a form of entertainment and footballers are no different to soap stars, musicians, DJ's etc. Do these players have to swear to some code of conduct when they get the job?

Don´t understand why Rooney isn´t already the captain.. That guy is simply amazing and IMO the most important player of the team for the next World Cup..

Frankie or Rio could be other good choices too..

Re: John Terry dropped as England captain

more a code of ethics than anything, I guess since it was with a former teammates old lady, and I agree with the decision

Also, I don't see a striker as a good captain regardless of who it is.. I'm under the belief someone closer to the back ie: non attacking midfield or defence who typically can have a view of more what's going on in front of them

It doesn't matter who its with, its none of his bosses business. Its a classic example of employers thinking they have total control over employees lives.
