looks like UF and USC raked in a lot of quality players. i'm happy about LSU getting the 6th best class but kinda disappointed about Texas A&M dropping to 15. they still have a strong team to build on next year though.

FloridaOrange, Phuckemup... gotta be happy the way it turned out even with Urban being schiesty. 8)

i sure wish college football was still on. :(

Re: NCAA Football Signing Day 2010

Yeah major disappoint here as the #1 defensive recruit in the country, Seantrel Henderson, chose USC over staying in his home state of Minnesota. Not that I can blame him. Who would choose the lowly Golden Gophers over an opportunity to play for Monty Kiffin, who may very well be the greatest defensive football mind of all time.

Re: NCAA Football Signing Day 2010

^^^ he's a high school player! lol and he hasn't even committed 100% until he sees what comes of the investigation usc is under going

"grading" college recruiting classes is about as pointless as grading a teams nfl draft the next day, you have NO clue what you really have until at least 3 years later

Re: NCAA Football Signing Day 2010

Ok Steve & illustrious...I hear ya knockin, but what would you have teams do? Not recruit the best athletes? Not to mention the fact that many blue-chip and top recruits contribute much earlier to their respective programs. If I am not mistaken this year the record for number of juniors leaving college early to enter the NFL will be broken.

The reason that Seantrel Henderson generated so much buzz is b/c IF he pans out he has the potential to be a great player at the professional level. Yes, some guys won't pan out, but a small few will pan out and will pan out BIG TIME. I am sure that all college and NFL coaches know this and due to this college recruiting & pro scouting have become more and more laborious and important to the success of any college or pro team. For every Lawrence Taylor there are a thousand Brian Bosworth's and unfortunately there is NO sure thing.

Re: NCAA Football Signing Day 2010

you're missing my point Weizy the fact that these kids are having press conferences and the switching of the hats and all that crap, and society wonders why these KIDS have such a sense of entitlement. it's not their fault they've been told their shit doesnt stink their whole life. And then recruiting classes are graded, it's like grading the nfl draft, you don't know shit until 3 or 4 seasons after said draft

of course they're going to recruit what appear to be the top athletes, but more often than not a top athlete in high school isnt always a top college athlete as goes for college to the nfl ,the top few picks rarely live up to their hype.. jamarcus russell v tom brady for an example ;)
