Re: Button or Barrichello

not sure in al honesty... button was really good at the beginning of the season now barrichello seems to have the upper hand. if i would have to choose i think barrichello deserves to win a championship... dont think he can last a few more years... man is old!

Exciting finish today ... button held on with dodgy brakes to go 15 points clear with 3 races to go !

Re: Button or Barrichello

I would rather see Barrichello win. There's something wrong in a sport where you can drive round at the back for years and become world champion the next. Its a tough last 3 races for Button he can't even guarantee he will score any points at each round. Even if he Win's it I doubt he will even be a serious contender next year. They should even out the Drivers wages next year because this years performances have been shocking.

Re: Button or Barrichello

Qualifying for Brazil is a few minutes away, so bringing this thread back up.

Button will win this years championship, though is definitely not the best driver in the pack. He's not even the best British driver. Lewis Hamilton drives the wheels off his cars, and would've been there, or thereabouts, if his car had been more competitive.

Would have liked to see Barichello win it this year. For the years where he was given less preferential treatment to Schumacher, and for his general longevity in the sport, he would've been a popular champion.

Looking forward to seeing Vettel and Hamilton going head-to-head next year.

Re: Button or Barrichello
The thunderstorms that struck Interlagos on Saturday morning and then again just before qualifying in the afternoon wrought havoc on the best laid plans. The track was so slippery in Q1 and Q2 that there were incidents and then delays as race officials waited for conditions to improve.

That meant that the session which started at 1400 hours finally finished at 1641, making it the longest in Formula One history. It was also one of the most traumatic for the drivers, especially as the improvement in Q2 made it very tricky to decide the exact point at which to switch from Bridgestone’s full wet tyres to intermediates.

For the record, these were the top 10 fuel weights: Brawn GP’s Rubens Barrichello 650.5 kg, Red Bull’s Mark Webber 656, Force India’s Adrian Sutil 656.5, Toyota’s Jarno Trulli 658.5, Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen 651.5, Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Buemi 659, Williams’ Nico Rosberg 657, BMW Sauber’s Robert Kubica 656, Williams’ Kazuki Nakajima 664, Renault’s Fernando Alonso 652.
I'm biting my nails in anticipation to this race... I think rubinho might take this one!

He couldn't have asked for a better chance to take this to the final grand prix.

Here's hoping.

He drove like a champion in that race, (and what a race it was too). So happy for Button!!!!!

I doubt he will even be in the running for the championship next year.

I hope you'll be eating those words.

Jenson has worked with the Brackley boys since 2003 for this win and they all deserve both championships. Don't write them off for next year, Brawn is far smarter than that. One hit wonders they are not.

Re: Button or Barrichello

Well Mr Brawn is the man anyway, looks at the years he spent at Ferrari. Next year is gonna be as good what with Alonso going to Ferrari.

Agreed, this years win has as much, if not more, to do with Ross Brawn, than Jenson.

Fair do's to Jenson though, he actually drove well in overtaking efficiently the also-rans that qualified higher than normal, due to the unusual qualifying.

Looking forward to next year, where the batlle will continue between Hamilton and Alonso, and the improving Vettel.
