College football first... osu almost lost to navy, byu beat oklahoma!

Re: Football is back!

college > nfl some great games already, oklahoma losing is massive, sucks for them losing their QB though and clearly that was why they lost.. but it deffo shakes up the early college season, which is great!

Re: Football is back!

so happy! man, yesterday felt like it last forever. the LSU game didn't end to nearly 2am! WTF. late games lead to hangovers.

idk about clearly bro... he had a whole fist half and played like shit. byu had over 100 yards more than OU after 1st half... also byu played without their starter RB and their 2 best linemen...

i didnt see the game, so that was an assumption

Re: Football is back!

what a friggin opener the Noles vs Canes was tonight!!!

I have cousins that graduated from both, and I am a fan of neither although I root for the noles over the canes, because of the canes lack of sportsmanship over the years...

Most yards ever passed by a noles QB vs the canes tonight and first opener in Tally lost by Bowden...

great game!

Re: Football is back!

i tend to agree with steve even though he didn't watch the game. they lost because their qb got hurt. they might have still lost with bradford in there, but OU's obvious lack of leadership after he got hurt didn't help. they just looked confused. and good lord, cut down on the penalties. both teams racked em up.

regardless, i'm lmao at OU. how many non-major conference teams have beat them now?? :)

and my point was that they looked lost and confused in the first half as well

Something feels weird about watching a Bob Stoops team come up small in a big game. Oh, right. My Christmas tree isn't up.

it wasnt exactly a stretch was it? i'm fairly sure had Bradford not gone out of the game they would have scored more than 13 points ;)

Re: Football is back!

stafford is starting. of course you're going to suck

#1272656Post 19 of 53

Re: Football is back!

I'm more concerned with our defense. Stafford was still able to put up points. It was 14-0 before I opened my beer.

#1282850Post 30 of 53

Re: Football is back!

well, after 5 weeks, the three teams I follow are a combined 0-15. Thank god for fantasy football! :D

#1282899Post 31 of 53

Re: Football is back!

i'm just glad the bucs are the best 0-5 team in the nfl, lol cleveland, oakland (how they won a game who knows), st louis.. i really think the bucs could kick, the crap out of all those teams.

whats with all the commentators saying National Football League instead of NFL, is this something the league is making them do? Jim Rome brought this up last week, and after watching yesterday, I really noticed he's right, lol

Hell yeah, college ball, for me, has always been > than NFL.

#1282911Post 33 of 53

Re: Football is back!

i cannot watch a whole nfl game for any team anymore, even the ones i root for. i enjoyed watching the president's cup so much more yesterday... i guess i'm tired of seeing pros in the nfl act like premadonnas all the time in front of the camera.

#1282928Post 34 of 53

Re: Football is back!

^^^ i watch, but you're right, plus there is so much over produced fluff surrounding the games, pre game shows, post game shows, etc

Re: Football is back!

well, i made it thru a whole game today... WHO DAT say gonna beat dem saints?!

and the falcons tonight... sucks being a saints fan and living in atlanta. i have a hard time not rooting for matt ryan and the falcons. hope its a good game tonight!

#1287838Post 36 of 53

Re: Football is back!

this whole weekend was epic for football, holy fucking shit.

how bout that usc notre dame game. intense.

regarding college football > pro football:

i completely understand what ya sayin, and i used to think like that for the longest time, but there's just something much more validating watching actual pros compete - because that shit's strait up seemless to watch - in contradistinction to college competition. it's just so much more thorough and entertaining, imo. the commentators, showboating, and over glamorization surrounding the game really doesn't bother me anymore, plus, it reminds me of nlf blitz which kicks ass!

#1287839Post 37 of 53

Re: Football is back!

^^^ seemless? lol.. you obviously havent watched: buffalo, tampa, cleveland, oakland, tenn, .. should i go on?

Re: Football is back!

lol i hear ya, but you get the generalizing drift i was aiming at though ;)

it's like anything else though, the highest tier is always more perfected, overall.

Who Dat? What? Who Dat? What? Who Dat say gonna beat them Saints? Fucking killed me not to be able to make it to the Dome. Kelly and I were stuck in the Miami airport for 6 hours on Sunday coming back from our honeymoon, had to give up our season tickets for that game. Got to watch the first half at a bar near our gate though. I was scaring people; letting out loud WHO DAT?'s
