Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

No idea how man city will fare over a season to be honest adz. Hope they do well though in a way as it'll shake up what has become boring at the top imo.

Arsenal have looked good of late but the good spells always seem to come before a long slump with them. I think on their day they could hammer anyone.

I expect Owen to do well and shock a few people

Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

Pompey are gonna shock everyone and get first title since 1949.

Similar to the way Dunfermline are gonna get promoted into the Scottish Premier this season.

:)

Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

Arsenal vs. Man U in 10 minutes!!!

I am pulling for Liverpool but they have gotten off to a tough start thus far. Hopefully Torres and Gerrard can work up some magic as the season progresses. Tough match today but they prevailed 3-2.

Boy Chelsea sure took care of Burnley today...ouch.

Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

get out of here yank! lol, just kidding mate early on burnley should have been up at least 1-0 maybe 2.. but i bet that goal looked the size of a packet of peanuts when i think it was patterson got the ball with an almost empty net.. good to see them hang in there for 45 minutes though

its going to be a long season for man u supporters unless fergie realises that fletcher is shite and gets him off the pitch!

Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

Did anyone watch Man U vs. Arsenal. It was a GREAT match. Arsenal seemed to be in complete control at the half and then it all fell apart from there. A header into your own goal? Ouch. Then Rooney got loose and it was all over for Arsenal.

Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

There will be a fair few surprises this year I think, it won't all go the way of the supposed top 4. I am a Liverpool fan, but we won't win it. I said all along that last year we had a good season, but we won't be able to reproduce that again, esp without Alonso.

Chelsea look strong, so I'm plumping for them. Anyone but United please......

#1272369Post 12 of 27

Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

I agree they'll miss Alonso - i'd be happy to see Liverpool do well

Watched match of the day this morning with a hangover, lots of tea and some left over take-away, what a fine start to a sunday..

I only wish there was an option to mute the commentary though, it drives me nuts. Also the "pundits" in the studio i can do without. Get rid of them and show twice as much football please. I've been to hundreds of football matches in my time and and not once have i wished Alan Hansen was there with me drawing fucking circles round people to help me understand it.

Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

The celebration thing i thought was quite amusing, the stamping is pissing me off. It seems to be rife at the moment for some reason, not just in the premier league but Europe aswell. At least i can never remember hearing about it as much as i have this season.

#1272753Post 16 of 27

Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

Yeah the stamping has become an issue, and it was pretty below the belt.

Loved the celebration though! Why wouldnt you when youve been abused from pillar to post for 50 minutes.

Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

3 match ban for Ade, that'll teach him to just get on with it and not worry about the fans

Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

I'm wid you macca19 i was at the match and for 90 mins he was abused constantly so i would of done the same as for the stamping a 3 match ban is what he deserved but i like the way van rapist got let off scott free for running to us city fans and abusing us? But the FA dont want to get on the wrong side of the top 4 do they?

Re: English Premier League 2009/2010

Being a Liverpool supporter is quite depressing these days let me tell you. The sooner Benitez goes the better IMO. He has had his chance and the money and he's blown it.

Players such as Lucas, Voronin, El Zhar, Insua would not stand out in the Championship let alone the Premier League.

One thing I cannot stand is 'strikers' who do not score goals. People like Heskey, Carlton Cole, Bendtner etc. Add David Ngog to that list. Hands down the worst footballer ever to wear a Liverpool shirt. He doesn't even look like he knows what a football is.

We will NOT finish in the top 4 this season at the rate we are going. Watching Gerrard today even he looks like he is not bothered anymore and has accepted our fate. Lord knows what he thinks each time Ngog or Lucas lose the ball again.
