well, the shit hit the fan today, and tomorrow night, victor conte, owner of BALCO, is going to be spilling the beans on bonds, giambi, etc. so, what happens next????? :?: :?: :?

yanks should try to make a statement and try to void giambi's contract in my opinion. bonds has denied denied denied, but supposedly, conte is going to admit everything tomorrow. personally these 2, and the others should be tossed, the owners should lock out the players until its solved. and the president, a former owner nonetheless, should get involved. its a damn shame that something that illegal thorughout the country, is not only legal , but accepted, in baseball. the union has hurt the appearance the game b/c they feel like they can do whatever the hell they want.

#312391Post 2 of 23

Is it out that Conte implicates them both? I haven't seen anything, just that he will be speaking tomorrow night.

#312393Post 3 of 23

yeah, supposedly he is "clearing the air" about bonds and giambi. full admittance over giving them the creams, shots, pills, etc.

THE WORST THING IS that the fucking union cheif, donald fehr, went batshit when camanetti admitted to using and went on the record about other players. he actually called up camenetti and told him to shut up. unfortunetly, he died. the owners and gov't need to put the foot down.

good... if they've been using steroids, i hope they get caught. they deserve to. bonds can kiss my ass. i kind of feel compasion for giambi though and all the shit he's gone through lately.

#312397Post 5 of 23

Shot's and pills I understand. But that cream isn't illegal. I have a buddy that uses it and gets it from GNC. It's just a testosterone cream, I don't see what the big deal is with it. Regardless, the way I've always felt is that yes, steroids are bad. I don't think you can take much away from someone like Bonds though, I mean it's wrong of him to use them, but they don't do anything to help hand-eye coordination. He will always be known as the guy that hit 80 homers but used steroids.

#312400Post 6 of 23

not me, giambo would have had a lot of more respect due if he owned up to it. at least he could have laid it out on the table , taken the suspension, and volunteered for testing. if he at least made the effort like other past players have, he could have been a lone voice of reason in the crowd. much like shaq and what he said after the morons in the NBA stood behind artest and jackson. he said he would never go into the stands and they all deserve what they get.

#312402Post 7 of 23
but they don't do anything to help hand-eye coordination.
bigger, faster, better, is always a bonus in ANY sport.

sure, bonds may have still had a lot of hits, but a lot of those balls would have dropped in the outfield, not 2 miles away. I hope bonds gets banned from baseball.

#312403Post 8 of 23

that gives baseball a bad name though. now people are going to ask if that record should stand or not. personally, i think bonds should have everything stripped away from him (which if he is proven guilty he already loses his hall of fame hopes). the same thing should happen to any other player, which really is devastating. baseball sure does have some rocky times. as soon as it gets exciting again, its ruined by something like this.

#312405Post 9 of 23

yo skahound, steriods affect both fast twitch and slow twitch muscle. fast twitch muscle most definetly affects the coordination b/c you have a much better reaction time and speed. not taking anything away from his innate talent though.

#312410Post 10 of 23
not taking anything away from his innate talent though.
that's just the thing...

Bonds was still arguably one of the best players ever without roids. Being the prick that he is, and greedy fuck that he is, it wasn't enough.

I hope he gets a lifetime ban.

Very true. Reaction speeds yes, but all I'm saying is I have a pretty fast reaction time but I can't make contact for shit. Now defensively I'm a different story.

Re: baseball - steriods- giambi-bonds

I was listening to ESPN radio today. They said, can you imagine if they find out Bonds took roids and breaks Aarons HR record. It would be absolutely horrendous.

#312465Post 16 of 23

My guess is that Bonds would retire if and when the shit hits the fan.

#312468Post 17 of 23

i guess he won't be playing next year then...

what pisses me off even more is he is discracing willie mays and his father... he's a shithead

#312474Post 18 of 23

All of these 'professionals' should be banned just like Pete Rose. It is absurd that the players union could and would go to the mat for these drug enhanced players. They ruined the sport and are taking away from the likes of DiMaggio, Aaron, Ruth and Gerhig. Shame on them and shame on Bud Selig for not taking a more frim stance against this issue.

BTW, you here what the consequences are for testing positive?

nah it would serve as a great steriod marketing campaign...

I think the union needs to change its ways... which will probably take extreme pressure from the public or the goverment... don't think much of the baseball loving population cares much for the steriod conteversy... they want to see homeruns and don't care about the lengths players will go to for them... that leaves the goverment... the repulicans aren't too keen on unions... but i imagine they will use strong words and little action..

Look at this pic, one of the most obvious side effects of testosterone use is acne. Pretty clear case here.

I've seen guys in my gyn taking it, and they turned from easy going fellas to pumped up twitching giants. I'd be like "Hey [x], how's it going?", and he'd be like "NOT NOW MAN LEAVE ME ALONE I'M WORKIN'OUT MAN.". Spitting all over my face. It's dirty shit, I tell ya.
